The 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Final Fantasy series is massively prolific, and one of gaming's most recognizable franchises, as well as one of its oldest. Final Fantasy 15 is one of the most drastically different games in the series. It was the first to adopt real-time combat in the🌌 mainline games, and a ✤single open-world too. What many might also be aware of is the somewhat troubled development cycle. You can feel the passion of the developers in the game, but there are a bunch of things that changed during its development.

10 🌄 It Was Originally Final Fantasy Versus 13

Revealed back in 2006, Fabula Nova Crystallis was designed to be a new subseries of Final Fantasy with Final Fantasy 13 and Versus 13 as its headlining games. Looking back at its reveal, it's plain to see that Noctis was the protagonist of Versus 13, and Insomnia played a major role as well.

The Fabula Nova Crystallis subseries didn't live a very long life though, with many of the games suffering troubled development. The 13 trilogy released, but every other game was retooled into something else, like Final Fantasy Type-0 and most famously, Final Fantasy 15.

9 The Logo Was Kept ⛎

A big design choice for Director Hajime Tabata was to as much as possible once the game was changed over to being Final Fantasy 15. Amongst many things like chara💯cters and gameplay, this even included the logo. Final Fantasy logos ar𓆏e usually closely tied to the plot, so this was an interesting choice.

In 15, once you complete the game it is revealed that the character depicted in the logo is Lunafreya, with Noctis then appearing beside her. Though we have no real indication as to what the original logo may have been trying to depict, it definitely was not Lunafreya, a character who didn't even exist in the original.

8 🤪 Characters Were Changed During Development

Lunafreya wasn't the only new character added after development shifted to Final Fantasy 15. Indeed, Lunafreya was a replacement for the character Stella Nox Fleuret who played a fairly similar role to Lunafreya. That said, Noctis' friends have remained the same all throughout, as did the emperor of Niflheim.

Interestingly though is that the emperor was originally meant to be a larger threat, one that was significantly downsized in🌟 th🍎e released game. Ardyn was in fact designed to be the replacement for this, someone who could more closely follow the party than the emperor ever could.

7 🎃 The Bane Of Gaming, The Square Enix CEO

Noctis fighting the Square Enix CEO during a livestream

Shortly before the game's release, Director Hajima Tabata held a stream to show off some funny aspects that weren't in the game itself, like fighting a giant version of Child Prompto. But the most confusing was the final showdown between Noctis and the CEO of Square Enix.

It would seem the developers at Square Enix had a few things t🍒oꦓ discuss, possibly at a meeting with HR. The fight was promised as DLC but never arrived.

6 Nomura Was Originally The Di👍r𒆙ector

Tetsuya Nomura Speaking During An Interview Final Fantasy

So it's clear that Final Fantasy 15 started as Versus 13, and that Tabata wanted to retain as much of what was originally shown as possible. Notably, it wasn't originally his vision he was adapting but that of Tetsuya Nomura, the original director of Versus 13, and perhaps more famously of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Kingdom Hearts.

There's a lot of mystery with regard to all this. There's no clear evidence of why the project was changed into something else so drastically, or even why Nomura was replaced as director and seemingly removed almost entirely from the game, but Tabata himself was chosen for things like his work on Crisis Core, a Final Fantasy 7 spin-off featuring real-time combat.

5 ▨ Canceled DLC Episodes

From its release in 2016, Final Fantasy 15 was showered in u🥀pdates and DLC. Some of it was just fixes, others adding content that felt oddly missing, and some added entirely new features altogether. Then c🀅ame the Royal Edition, the Windows Edition, and then the final DLC in Episode Ardyn.

But Ardyn's DLC was never meant to be the end, but the beginning of something new entirely. Originally, there was also meant to be an Episode Lunafreya, Aranea, and even Episode Noctis, giving an alternate ending to the game, before being unceremoniously canceled in an Anniversary Livestream. The rough stories of the ill-fated DLC were compiled in the Dawn of the Future book, at least.

4 Outfits Were Created By An Actualꦏ Fashion Company

Square Enix, and the Final Fantasy series especially, is no stranger to odd collaborations. Lightning herself is an actual Louis Vitton model and there's the recent pizza emote from Grubhub, the FF7 Remake and Butterfingers, the list goes on. So maybe Final Fantasy 15's main cast being designed by a fashion brand isn't too odd.

Until the contract was actually finalized, all the characters wore placeholder outfits, one's they were never really intended to fully have. Japanese fashion brand Roen designed the outfits of the main cast as well as Cor Leonis and the ill-fated Stella. In fact, the suit Noctis wears in the ending with Lunafreya was one of the first outfits designed for Versus 13.

3 🔯 Prototype Gameplay

Though Hajima Tabata claims that most actual gameplay footage of Versus 13 was nothing more than scripted events used as a proof-of-concept, there are clear design choices in it that are both inspired by the past, and laid🎉 the foundations for what ultimately became Final Fantasy 15.

There's plenty of party-based gameplay and exploring an open-world, but also plenty of heavily Kingdom Hearts-inspired UI as well as Noctis entering mechs, plenty of which was likely also salvaged to be used in Kingdom Hearts 3's Toy Story world, and FF7 Remake's base combat system

2 🥀 Feedback From Demos

Final Fantasy 15 actually had two demos, neither of which are currently obtainable. The first was Episode Duscae, included with copies of Final Fantasy Type-0 HD. This demo focussed on some open-world exploration and combat. For one, the UI is quite a bit different, and Noctis' combat too. He changes weapons on every strike, rather than letting you choose a single weapon.

A major complaint was actually his voice, which many complained sounded like Batman in English. So voice actor Ray Chase actually had to re-record all of his dialogue with a higher-pitched voice, and that original voice is instead used after the time skip. The Platinum Demo was instead a tech demo, taking place in Noctis' dreams.

1 Prompto's Camera Was Added Due To Feedback

An interesting reaction to the Episode Duscae demo was fans' reactions to the various characters. Though plenty of feedback was acquired, one of the most notable of those was that Prompto was the least-liked character, and by quite a significant margin. This led the team to re-evaluate Prompto as a character, and how to make him more likable.

This resulted in , where he would take pictures at random, and you would review them at camp. This actually became a major gameplay feature, being a way to look back on your journey at the end of the game, choosing one picture to personify it all. In reality, it's one of the features that makes FF15 feel so personal.
