Summary
- Fans are concerned with Prishe's design in the upcoming FF14 patch.
- Previous FF11 crossover events in FF14 featured faithful character representations.
- The upcoming raid series Echoes of Vana'diel in FF14 has the potential for a creative mix of FF11 lore, but fans hope for respectful treatment.
This past Thursday saw Square Enix add the Patch 7.1 Crossroads information , giving fans a look at the patch artwork and teasing a few snippets of information about what’s to come, including some screenshots. That’s where the trouble began. It didn’t take long for that screenshot of Prishe to start doing the rounds in the community and the 🔥majority were not loving the fit check.
Let me backtrack for a second to give some background for those who don’t know. In Final Fantasy’s upcoming mid-November patch, the new alliance raid Echoes of Vana'dielಞ - Jeuno: The First Walk will be added. This new raid series is based on Square Enix’s previous (and still active) MMO, F🌟inal Fantasy 11.

We Need More Challenging 𝐆Final Fantasy 14 Seasonal Events
Short and sweet FFXIV seasonal events💜 are all well and good, ༒but I want something more challenging again.
In FF11, Prishe is one of the main characters in the Chains of Promathia expansion, a young Elvaan girl with a loud mouth and a big punch. Prishe is a beloved character in the FF11 fandom, so she’s the perfect candidate to𓆏 feature in the raid series, but the worst candidate for a design change.
Personally, I was also never a fan of Prishe’s last design tweak in Dissidia 012 Final Fa♒ntasy, as her face didn’t feelꦆ right.
Let’s get back to the FF14 screenshot of Prishe then. It’s undoubtedly our best girl, there’s no mistaking it with those purple locks and 🔯🅷that outfit. But for some reason, she has whopping great big punchy arms as if she’s about to debut as the new character in Nintendo Switch’s Arms. I get she’s a Monk, but this is comical. Her fists are three times the size of her head.
They’ve also given her a cape, too. It’s like they took Final Fantasy 7’s Cait Sith’s cape, and the robotic Moogle armsꦡ, and slapped them on Prish𒀰e. She’s also been blinged up with a lot more gold on her bulbous arms and been given a new hairdo, the latter of which isn’t bad. It’s just those weird arms and cape I can’t get over.
There is one saving grace to the lat♔est info drop, and ꦕthat’s in the patch artwork Prishe looks very faithful to her FF11 design. Hair and clothes are normal. No cape. Most importantly, no silly, big, punchy arms. We can live in hope that whatever reason she is wearing that hideous outfit is short-lived and Square Enix just likes to wind us up by having that be the first screenshot it shares of her. On the other hand, maybe it’s the opposite. Maybe she’s only briefly traditional Prishe and then gets some new outfit to wear for FF14. I wouldn’t put it past Tataru to do just that.
This isn’t the first meeting between FF11 and FF14, as previously there have been a couple of crossover events between the two. The Maiden’s Rhapsody with Iroha from FF11’s🐲 episodic Rhapsodies of Vana'diel storyline, and Burgeoning Dread, which saw Shantotto, another firm fan-favourite from FF11, visit Eorzea. Both of these had very faithful representations of the characters in question, but a brief event is very diffe𝄹rent to a whole raid series.
It’s worth noting 🎉that both Final Fantasy 12 and Nier have inspired past FF14 raid series, yet characters like Fran and 2B managed to retain their lore-appropriate looks.
We don’t know yet exactly how these two worlds will collide, as so far we only have the following clue: “A pall of unease has settled over Yak T'el, and memories of a world not our own now find themselves buried in the woods. The Warrior of Light has set off to investigate, but what secrets will they unearth beneath those shaded bou♚ghs?”
Based on the events of Dawntrail and how the Yak T’el saw visions of the Golden City, this could mean another portal to yet another shard or shard fragment might lie buried in the woo💝ds, perhaps even some new Golden City to explore.
When Echoes of Vana'diel was announced, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:the first artwork we saw wa♔s of 𝄹The Shadow Lord, the original antagonist of FF11. This is prime FF11 goodness tha🧸t FF14’s plot is venturing into, and this recent screenshot of Prishe has me worried it won’t be the gripping dive into this narrative that I thought it might be and instead will be some lighthearted, comical content that doesn’t give th🦹e subject material the proper treatment it deserves.
It’s not that I’m steadfast in the idea that FF14 can’t mix things up with the Echoes of Vana'diel content. However the two meet will certainly allow for some creative libertie🔯s, and it could be really interesting to play around with FF11 lore in a FF14 setting. Just please don’t make the characters we love look so daft.
