Untelegraphed Attacks

AoE

Valigarmanda has several attacks that it will perform throughout the fight that are not telegraphed by AoE markers until the last moment. Instead, you'll have to pay attention to its animations to determine which parts of the arena will be dangerous or safe. These are also accompanied by a red warning text that flashes on the screen.

  • A tempestuous wind surrounds Valigarmanda: The boss will circle around the edges of the arena, dealing damage in a ring AoE with a safe spot in the center of the arena.
  • Valigarmanda gathers its strength: The boss will hover slightly above the front half of the arena. Deals damage in a large point-blank AoE surrounding the boss.
  • Blinding energies build within Valigarmanda's wide-open beak: The boss will stay in the front half of the arena and open its mouth wide. Deals damage in a large cone from the front of the arena.

Ice Talon

AoE Tankbuster

Targets both Tanks with a high-damage AoE attack. The Tanks should split apart and stay away from the rest of the party while using defensive cooldowns to mitigate this damage. Ice Talon also inflicts Frostbite for 15 seconds, dealing damage over time.

Skyruin

Special

Deals damage to all players, inflicts either Electrocution or Frostbite, and transforms the arena. Valigarmanda will either channel Thunder or Ice, using different attacks in each phase.

  • Valigarmanda's attacks in each version of Skyruin are detailed below.

Disaster Zone

Roomwide AoE

Deals damage to all party members while tr🐻ansforming th൩e arena back to normal.

Ruinfall

Tankbuster/Special

Creates a double-Tankbuster pillar in the center of the arena that both Tanks will need to stand in to split and absorb its damage. Immediately after the Tankbuster resolves, all players will be pushed to the back of the arena, where three circle AoEs will be spread out.

  • Move to the front of the arena to avoid being pushed off the edge, but position yourself so that you are in between two of the circle AoEs to avoid those as well.

Ruin Foretold

Special

Deals damage to all party members before summoning three elemental Beacons and targeting one player with a line-Stack Marker. At the same time, Valigarmanda will repeatedly target the arena with several conal AoEs.

  • As a group, rotate around the arena, destroying the Beacons, while staying close together to spread out the damage of the Stack Marker, which will be repeatedly applied as long as the Beacons are active.
  • Valigarmanda will also be charging up Ruinous Power while the Beacons are active. After the Beacons are destroyed, or when Ruinous Power reaches 100, Valigarmanda will use Tulidisaster, dealing three hits of damage that scale with Ruinous Power. If Ruinous Power is 100, the party will be instantly defeated.
  • After Tulidisaster, all players will be inflicted with the Perpetual Conflagration debuff, which deals slight damage over time and increases all damage taken for the remainder of the fight.

Eruption

AoE Markers

Targets three players with three consecutive circle AoEs. Spread out while ✱moving around the arena to 👍avoid these.

These mechanics, as well as those detailed below in each Skyruin phase, will be repeated until Valigarmanda is defeated.

Skyruin - Thunder

valigarmanda using thunderous breath during skyruin - thunder

In this version of Skyruin, the arena will become a four-by-three grid of squares, with the four corner squares and the two center squares becoming tiles that will Levitate you into the air. Valigarmanda will use the following attacks𒀰 during this phase.

Conal AoE

Deals damage in a cone to the front of the boss. This attack can be avoided by Levitating on any of the six applicable tiles.

Hail of Feathers

Roomwide AoE

Drops four feathers around the arena, each one dealing roomwide AoE damage when it👍 lands. These feathers will persist for Valigarmanda's next attack.

Blighted Bolt (🍌Bolts of lightning fall upon the battlefield...)

AoE

Targets players standing on the Levitate panels with a small circular AoE. Avoid these by moving off the Levitate panels. Shortly after, the feathers will explode in a circular AoE, so stay clear 🍬of these while moving off the tiles.

Arcane Sphere (Valigarma☂nda summons arcane circles of thunder...)

Line AoE

Summons five lightning circles at one side of the arena that will then fire a line AoE across the arena. Find the safe spot and move there to avoid.

During subsequent instances of Skyruin - Thunder, Valigarmanda will combine Thunderous Breath and Arcane Spheres, as well as its untelegraphed attacks also with Arcane Spheres. Watch carefully during this phase to determine the safe spots, as the area of safe spots will decrease th💟e more mechanics are hap🦄pening at the same time.

Skyruin - Ice

Avalance (A rumbling a꧂valanche approaches from th🍬e southeast/southwest)

AoE

Deals damage in a large diagonal line AoE from the direction indicated by the red warning text. Additionally, large blue arrows will show the direction of the incoming avalanche, so move accordingly to avoid this attack.

Freezing Dust

Special

After a short countdown, inflicts Freezing Up on all players. If you stop moving before the debuff expires, you will be frozen, making you unable to attack or move. Simply keep moving until the debuff wears off to avoid this.

Arcane Sphere (Valigarmanda summons arcane circles of ice...)

AoE

Creates two Arcane Spheres near the center of the arena that will then fire off several line AoEs in cardinal and intercardinal directions, as indicated by the faint blue lines pointing out from the Spheres. Find the safe spot between the two sets of line AoEs to avoid this attack.

From the second use on of Skyruin - Ice, Arcane Spheres will be paired with Avalance and Freezing Dust.
