It certainly helps to know where to find specific resources beforehand because, before you know it, you'll be swamped with requests for them. Glass is surprisingly easy to find, but without theꦐ proper tools and knowledge of its whereabouts, you'll struggle to get your hands on some.
As Fields of Mistria is💞 currently in Early Access, everything detailed below is subject to change over the course of its development.
Where To Buy Glass
There are various means of acquiring Glass, but the easiest and most convenient way is to buy some from the Carpenter's Shop on the Eastern Road. Glass costs 80 Tesserae apiece, and when you've established a successful farm and see th🐽e coins rolling in later on, you'll want to commit to buying them instead of spending days farming for it.
How To Find Glass
The big rocks you find on your farm property or elsewhere in Mistria can sometimes drop two to three pieces of Glass when you break them. To break these stones, however, you'll need at least a Copper Pickaxeౠ, which you can 🍷either craft or buy at the Blacksmith's shop.
Keep in mind that breaking these rocks isn't the most reliable method of obtaining Glass, as they take days to respawn.
Once you've cleared off all the big rocks you could find in search of Glass, your next stop should be the Mines, which unlock once you hit the Stone ranking for the town. In the Mines, be on the lookout for enchanterns. These sentient lantern monsters often drop two pieces of Glass when slain and are commonly foun🍷d throughout the Mines.
Be mindful of the enchanterns found in the Tidal Cavern and Deep Earth as thᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚey are a lot more da𒉰ngerous than the ones found in the Upper Mines.
How To Use Glass
Glass is pretty self-explanatory and is used to craft almost anything that incorporates Glass, from windows to lamps and even dessert cases and cookie jars. Most importantly, Glass is one of the essential materials required to upgrade the Inn, which you'll inevitably need to do after upgrad♉ing Hayden's barn.
To upgrade the Inn, you'll need:
- 25 Glass
- 600 Stone
- 10 Peat
- 10 Silver Ingot
- 500 Stone
- 6,000 Tesserae
That's a hefty amount of resources to initiate an upgrade, 👍but it's a given as it happens much later in the game.
Beyond its purpose in crafting, Glass is also requested by Landen as part of his quest, and you'll need to bring three pieces for him to reward you with 240 Tesserae. If you've got some spare Glass lying around, you could also very well gift it to the villagers and NPCs like Ryis and Merri from the Saturday Market will wholeheartedly accept it.
