Added in a post-launch update, the accessibility settings menu now includes the option to extend how long each day lasts. But it's not as dramatic, or as clearly explained, as you might like. We've broken everything down into more understandab🐭le terms and have even offered an alternative if you're still not satisfied.
How To Change The Day Speed In The Settings
From the in-game pause screen, go to the Settings tab and select the Accessibility section. At the top will be a Day Time Speed option. Selecting that, you will be prompted to pick one of three settings: Normal, Longer, and Longest.
This setting is not available from the main menu options. It can only be changed after loading in꧟to a save game.
Each setting will change the full day duration to their respective speeds, outlined below. Note that these only take effect after sleeping and starting the next day.

The game issues a warning that NPC schedules are based on normal time. But in our time with the extended options, we noticed little to no difference in our NPC interactions.
Mods That Change The Day Speed
If you're not satisfied with the time speed provided by the base game, community-made mods, like , allow you to adjust those settings even further. These can reduce the rate of time to as slow as zero percent (time doesn't pass at all!).
Installing these mods is a bit more of a process, and there's no guarantee that these mods will remain fu🐬ౠnctional after any game updates. As such, caution is advised when going this route.
