And what better way to showcase the history of Fatal Fury than to show off Billy Kane, a sub-boss ꦏfrom the very first installment of the series, the whole way back in 1991. While Billy's gameplay and strategies have surely changed quite a bit✅ since then, what hasn't is that he's still an extremely competent and solid fighter!

Billy Kane Overview

Billy Kane activating his Chou Kaen Senpuu Kon Redline Gear against Terry Bogard in Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves.

Billy Kane is a pretty devastating fighter in Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, as he has long-reaching attacks thanks to his santetsuken, enabling him to land attacks from a pretty drastic range and follow them up with a devastating combo. Not only that, but he has access to several that allow him to extend combos, frame traps, or block stuns.

Due to his rekkas, Billy has a pretty extensive move list, which can make him a bit tricky for newcomers to pick up and play. Still, his excellent range and ability to confirm hits into combos will help mitigate that aspect of his gameplay. He can also pull his opponents toward him, even when they're blocking, which adds an entire layer of pressure that only he can produce.

He's a pseudo rushdown fighter with excellent range and multiple ways to keep glued to his opposition, making him exhilarating to play once you learn everything he's capable of. While he's not the most beginner-friendly character out there, he certainly isn't the most complex. We'd say he's around the middle of the pack in terms of difficulty to play!

Billy Kane Command List

Billy Kane hitting Terry Bogard with his Guren Sakkon Redline Gear, catching him in a ring of fire generated from his santetsukon in Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves.

As we covered above, Billy Kane has quite an extensive Command List since a lot of his Special Moves have several stages, allowing you to continue extending the move by pressing specific attack buttons. This, along with his tremendous range, is what makes him such a formidable ꦑopponent in Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves.

So, before we get into his high-impact combos, let's go over his Command List, as you will see these actions littered throughout them. We cannot recommend enough how crucial it is to know what he has access to and how to execute them before diving directly into♋ the combos!

Billy Kane Combos

Billy Kane landing his Kyoushuu Hishou Kon Special Move after canceling out of another Special Move, dealing massive damage to Terry Bogard in Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves.

Now we can focus on what everyone wanted to see most: Billy Kane's combos. Again, due to his excessive range and many rekkas, Billy has high combo potential, as he can extend attacks with ease, allowing him to link one attack into another, whether it be via Braking or canceling one REV Art into another, he will find a way to do it.

Additionally, Billy is also surprisingly agile. While he feels a bit heavier to control than most of the cast, he can still move and close the gap between himself and his opponent rather swiftly, which makes him tremendously challenging to deal with once he gets cooking!

Billy Kane Tips And Tricks

Billy Kane executing his Dai Gouen Senpuu Kon Hidden Gear on Terry Bogard in Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves.

Lastly, we have a few more tips and tricks that you can use for Billy Kane that will improve your gameplay exponentially. As you can see from the combos above, he has many ways to extend his combos and Special Moves in general.

However, one of his strongest tools is his ability to pull his enemy toward him, even if they are blocking, giving many follow-ups afterward that will keep your opponents on their toes, as one wrong move could lead to a massive combo. The string below is an example of a block string that utilizes this exact scenario:

  • ⬇️ LK > LP > ⬇️ LK > LP > ⬇️↘️➡️ HP, ⬅️ HP

After pulling your target in, you can either go for a grab, a low or high attack, or a wide variety of other options, making this a very scary situation for your opponent. Use this often to condition them into thinking you're going to do one thing, then do the opposite to punish them.

This is the gist of Billy's offense, and it's a highly potent and suffocating one, even if it will require some time to adjust to, as his Special Moves have numerous follow-up actions. However, once you get the hang of it, he's easily one of the best characters in the game!
