Spoilers for the Fallout series.
The Fallout TV series is 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:set on the West Coast, where the Interplay and Obsidian games take place. That means it's digging into the aftermath of New Vegas, with the NCR on the brink as its first capital, Shady Sands, has been nuked following the events of the 2010 game. But that still leaves the fate of Caesar's Legion up in the air.
One fan has a compelling, if a little out there, theory. "The West Coast Brotherhood [of Steel] 'synthesised' and combined with Caesar's Legion," OmegaSpartan256 suggested. "Maximus? Titus? Thaddeus? Quintus? All names you'd hear assigned to Legion-raised individuals."
Why Would The West Coast Brotherhood Need To Merge With The Legion?
The West Coast Brotherhood were always incredibly secretive, never recruiting outsiders while hoarding pre-war tech for themselves. With the NCR's influence growing in the region, their isolationist nature caused enough tension to start a war that whittled the Brotherhood's numbers down.
Given that they refused to recruit outsiders, they never replenished their lost numbers, permanently weakening their grip on the wasteland. When we meet the Mojave chapter in New Vegas, half of them have been k💞illed in a fight with the NCR, with the rest being forced to hide in a bunker.
How🔯ever, by the time of the series, the West Coast Brotherhood is thriving. Something had to happen to bolst🌱er their numbers and strength. And we know that in New Vegas, while still reluctant, they enlisted the help of the Courier, a complete outsider.
Perhaps, now more willing to enlist strangers, they assimilated with a common ene൩my, the Leꦛgion, to regain their strength and hold back the NCR.
A lot of the imagery in the show is based on the East Coast Bro༺therhood from the Bethesda games, so they were likely depicted this way to match the aesthetic most fans know, but merging with the Legion is a fun idea to toy with.
As OmegaSpartan256 highlights, the West Coast Brotherhood of the show "apply more religious and ritualistic activities, like t🅠he branding of squires [...] This could be a way of reinstilling the same zealotry that Legionnaires upheld when serving Caesar."
The new Brotherhood flags are also gold and red like those of the Legion, and the Elder is seen sitting on a throne much like Caesar. We also know that when the Legion assimilated tribes, they erased their identities, so the Brotherhood may have done something similar in an ironic twist of fate. There's a surprising amount of evidence to support this admittedly crackpot theory.
What Happened To Caesar?
With the Fallout series venturing to New Vegas, it has some interesting hurdles to cross. For one, the game has several endings depending on which faction you side with, and the fate of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:each main character is ultimately up to the Courier. We can side wi💫th Caesar and take Hoover Dam for the Legion, or kill him and side with the NCR, Mr. House, or Yes Man.
However, it's revealed in New Vegas that Caesar has a brain tumour and the clock is ticking, so he'd likely be dead in the series anyway. His passing may have given the Brotherhood the perfect opportunity to assimilate the Legion, but that still leaves the fate of his successor, Legate Lanius, up in the air.
