There is a map fragment in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Elden Ring: 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Shadow of the Erdtree that took me forever to find. I am not alone either - one glance online has plenty of fellow Tarnished expressing frustration over a part of the🦄 Land of Shadow that remained obscured for far too long.

For those who aren’t familiar, The Lands Between is mapped out by visiting landmarks found across the open world and collecting fragments that represent the parts of the realm you find them in. Pic𓂃k one up, and you’ll be able to check the map screen to see exactly where you’re at. Normally, it works just fine, and there’s even a toggle to switch between above and below ground once you start really diving into the depths. If you don’t find the fragments though, all the sites of grace you find will still appear on the map and act as instant fast travel points.

It’s a solid syst💯em that allows you to place icons that are then represented visually within the game world, but as an actual tool of navigation, it’s better to cut your losses and jꦜust use a guide. This is especially true in Shadow of The Erdtree, as its condensed open world embraces verticality like no FromSoftware game before it. You will constantly be going above, below, and between to discover new areas you never knew existed,

giving existing locations a new c🐬ontext as they consistently intertꦍwine.

I’ve been using map markers a lot more in this expansion, if only to remember where a specific boss or doorway is when Sဣites of Grace aren’t always the most reliable.

While this results in some amazing moments of natural discovery, it also means that some of us will undoubtedly miss sprawling optional areas because we either failed to perform a new gesture at the right statue, took﷽ the wrong turn, or didn’t bother diving deeper into a cave. It’s a double-edged sword that I ultimately lean in favour of, but hot damn is it frustrating to jump around in circles for hours as I fail to realise the place I’m searching for is right under me.

Shadow of the Erdtree - Gravesite Plain

This frustration reached its apex as I arrived in the luscious green ruins of NAME after defeating⛄ one of the early major bosses. It’s a sprawling new zone made up of fractured platforms to ride across, labyrinthine ruins filled with giant scorpion spiders, and jagged cliffs hiding all manner of secrets. It’s a nightmare to navigate, especially when the map is nothing more than hand-drawn illustrations designed to show what the land looks like rather than to help folks get around.

It doesn’t help that the😼 area I’m talking about here is also filled with enemies that can ruin your day from a very long distance. Giant stone archers, please go to hell.

I’d already explored a large chunk of the area and was convinced I’d gone through all the mazes and uncovered most of their secrets, but that still left⭕ me stopped in my tracks for almost an hour as I struggled to ▨make it back to a heightened platform near an optional boss I’d fought previously, but had no idea how to reach.

I could see their arena off in the distance, but no matter what cliff I approached or what tunnel I walked through, my stupid ass ended up at the same place again and again and again. I was losing my patience, and not just because it was past midnight and I should have been in bed already. I needed to kill this boss before going tཧo sleep or I’d never live it down. So I started acting desperate.

Exploring wasn’t working, so I decided to teleport to every Site of Grace in the area I rested at previously so see if I’d just had a brainfart and already had a way to reach the boss, or at least end up nearby so it was only a short walk away. Turns out I was right, and within just a few short minutes I was beating this dancing lion to death with my Mimic Tear. But due to the increased verticality of the expansion, the map frequently fails to be clear in the ways it really needs to be in order to be functional. Yes, it looks gorgeous, and maintains the mystery I and millions of others love about Elden Ring, but some♚times I just don’t want to end up lost.

An easy solution would be to have an expanded fast travel screen away from the map itself where each Site of Grace has a screenshot of sorts that shows you exactly where it is. Yes, it would require an additional menu and somewhat diminish the majesty of the luscious map, but I&𝄹rsquo;d rather this quality-of-life feature than further frustration. There is a joy to not finding all Elden Ring and Shadow of the Erdtree have to offer, but in this case, the open world was working against me.
