He believed that by having Miquella, he’d have a shot at becoming Miquella’s consort and lord and establishing his dynasty.

Because of this obsession, Mohg comes up with a plan to abduct Miquella and take him to Mohgwyn Palace. He thought that by keeping Miquella’s cocoon close by, Miquella would eventually wake up, but❀ Mohg was still unaware of Miquella&rs♓quo;s plans.
Mohg infiltrated the Haligtree, where Miquella rested within his cocoon, and abducted him and brought the slumbering Empyrean to his blood-soaked realm, hoping to manipulate and control him for his own twisted purposes.
You can fight Mohg in one of the hardest boss fights in the base game and, upon killing him, can enter the Land of Shadow, where you learn more about Mohg and his fate.
Miquella’s Plan For Mohg
Miquella, the slumbering Empyrean, possessed imme🍸n𓃲se power and a cunning intellect. He sought to break free from the influence of the Outer Gods and create a new order guided by kindness and compassion.
The Shadow of the Erdtree DLC adds a layer of intrigue to Mohg and Miquella's relationship by revealing to us that Miquella had orchestrated his own kidnapping by Mohg, to achieve his own path to Godhood.
Sir Ansbach, a loyal servant of Mohg, confronts Miquella, so his lord can be freed from the Empyrean's spell, but is also unfortunately charmed by the Empyrean. He enters the L🌠and of Shadow alongside Mi🧜quella and follows in his footsteps.

After progressing through the DLC enough and reaching Scadu Altus, Miquella willingly discards his great rune, which breaks the spell he had put on his followers. Sir Ansbach begins having doubts and decides to research exactly what happened to Mohg after we defeat him.
He eventually remembers that Mohg was under Miquella's spell the entire time, so that Miquella could enter the Land of Shadow and begin his detailed plan to ascendꦰ to Godhood.
This reveal comes out of nowhere and most of the fanbase who saw Mohg as a villain were now sympathizing with him, as he turnꦡed out to be༺ a victim of a grander ambition yet again.
What Happened To Mohg's Corpse?
Entering Enir-Ilim reveals the final piece of the puzzle. Mohg’s body had apparently disappeared after you defeated him, according to Ansbach, and he was confused as to why. All the answers are revealed 🦩after you defeat Needl🐲e Knight Leda and enter the final fog gate.

The story of Mohg, Lord of Blood is ultimately full of tragedy, as he was first discarded by his own parents for being an Omen, and after finally achieving power, is discarded by his half brother to resurrect his other brother.
Miquella is not guided by compassion or kindness, but a desire for change, be it for better or for worse, and using Mohg for his own ends seems like the worst fate for the Ome𝔉n, but makes for a great character arc for the most misunderstood Demigod.
