How To Get Messmer's Kindling
From the name, you can assume that Messmer's Kindling is related to Messmer, a new boss fight found in the Shadow Keep within the Realm of Shadow. This location is situated in the northern part of the map.
To reach it, you must first cross the bridge northeast and go through Castle Ensis. Then, proceed through the castle and defeat Rellana, the Twin Moon Knight.
After defeating Rellana, continue north until you reach the Shadow Keep. Upon arriving, your main goal is to advance upwards to the top, where you will find Messmer the Impaler waiting for you.
This boss fight can be challenging, but if you manage to defeat him, you will receive his remembrance along with Messmer's Kindling.
Where To Use Messmer's Kindling
If you check the item description of Messmer's Kindling, it states that it has the power to burn the sealing tree located within the Old Rauh ruins. These ruins are situated northwest on the map and can be accessed through the Shadow Keep.
Starting from the Store House on the First Floor of the Site of Grace, turn left and descend the elevator directly in front of you. Proceed through the right door and continue 🦩forward until you reach the outside of the building.
Cross the bridge ahead to its end, then ascend the stairs and take the elevator up, which will lead you to the Ancient Ruins of Rauh.
This is also part of the main prog𝕴ression in the Shadow of the Erdtree.
In this region, you want to continue westward until you arrive at the Church of the Bud, where you will confront Romina, the Saint of The Bud. After defeating her, exit the arena, and you'll find a small tree that you can interact with.
Burning the sealing tree will dispel the shadows obscuring the nearby building, granting you access and you will be automatically teleported to this location.
It's important to note that this will be your final destination before complet💦ing the main storylꦬine of Shadow of the Erdtree, so keep that in mind.
