Elden Ring Nightre🔯ign: Sentient Pest Nightlord Boss Guide
Here's how to defeat Gnoster⛦, Wisdom of ♈Night in Elden Ring Nightreign.
Thankfully, compared to previous fights in the Everdark Sovereign series, Sent🍬ient Pest is a pushover in strength and complexity. However, this fight is not abo๊ut skill, dodging long chain attacks, or clever builds. This is, first and foremost, the ultimate test of Stamina and strategy.
How To Prepare For Everdark Sovereign: Sentient Pest
Everdark Sentient Pest is a strange creature in that having any strategy at all makes this 💛boss extraordinarily easy when compared to other Everdark Sovereign fights.
This fight's flow completely depends on how you wish to best the Pest. This is because of the unique gimmick of this fight:
When one enemy is downed, Animus temporarily possesse🌄s their body and makes them into a stronger version of themselves.
Having tꦚhis knowledge beforehand will be your💜 key to success, as:
- If you hate the scorpion, Faurtis, you should target the moth, Gnoster.
- If you hate Gnoster, you should target Faurtis.
Build a strategy around the boss you want to prioritize. If you cannot remember the movesets of these bosses, refer to our 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:official guid✱e on the normal Sentient Pest.
Sentient Pest is weak to Fire damage - applying to all enemies. Therefore, armaments t🌼hat deal Fire damage are a high priority.
Recommended Characters
How you prefer to fight the Sentient Pest in this form will determine the best characters to fight it.
- If you prefer melee-style combat, Wylder and Raider are the best choices.
- If you prefer ranged-style combat, Ironeye and Recluse excel here.
However, there is one character that does well regardless of style and should be brought: Duchess.
-
-
Wylder is fantastic due to his ability to use Flame Strike when performing his Character Skill. His Ultimate Art also deals Fire damage on top of the stagger, mak༒ing him ideal for facing the scorpion.
Raider can deal high damage to the hard shell of the Scorpion using Strength-based bludgeoning weapons while also using Totem Stela to stagger or block out the moth's attacks. It also provides a method of reaching Animus by jumping from above.
-
Ironeye and Recluse can both reach Animus and Gnoster easily. By their ability to reach Animus, the fight can end quicklꦑy.
Their big downside is that both are poor at dodging in their own ways, making some attacks tricky to avoid (and suffer from being squishy). Furthermore, Ironeye's damage is low, while any of Recluse's magic damage is resisted by Gnoster and Animus.
-
-
-
Duchess is a champion here for her ability to dodge all attacks in the moveset with great ease. She's able to revive teammates and double damage.
With the ability to cast magic as well as use handheld weaponsও interchangeably, she can fit anywhere on a team and hit all bosses equally. She's a jack-of-all-trades who excels above others i🅺n this fight.
Revenant is an odd duck. Her ability to use Incantations is useful, and her summons can distract Faurtis (the scorpion). However, several AoE attacks can cause Reve🥂nant to struggle; she dodges poorly, and FP management is 🌞a concern for a fight so long.
Everdark Sovereign: Sentient Pest's New Moveset
The moveset of the Sentient Pest depends on whether any bosses are incapacitated. In Phase Three, Animus will appear to possess the boss that died first.
However, Animus will have a single move that he can use when he is not possessing.
-
Red Pillars of Light is that single attack of Animus. However, when used, Faurtis will harden and become immobile and immune to all damage.
When this attack comes, good Stamina use will be a must as dodging and sprinting will be constant. The most dangerous part of the attack is the final beam, as the circle will silently expand and can catch players off guard.
-
-
-
Faurtis is slow but heavy-hitting in his possessed state. The most dangerous aspect of him is his delayed explosive attacks when using his normal stomps.
His Ultimate at the end of his possession (signifying the end of this form) will be Waves of Red. This can circle Faurtis as he will continuously spin to face his💞 target an꧋d potentially hit unsuspecting non-targets.
-
Gnoster is the easier of the two possessed forms, but harder to reach. His attacks✱ can be difficult for slower players to dodge and come inဣ multiple waves.
Rain of Red Stars is his Ultimate, and this attack will require constant dodge-spamming to prevent being hit and staggered into multiple instances of da🍨mage.🏅 Pausing at all can be fatal.

As touched on above, the primary takeaways from this fight are as follows:
- Animus will appear at the beginning of Phase Three to heal his teammates.
- When one boss falls, Animus will possess them and change their moveset.
- If a boss falls while Animus is possessing, that boss will remain incapacitated until Animus is free.
- Animus will end his possession by using the Ultimate of the boss.
This fight will only end when Animus's health bar is depleted. Once Animus i♒s gone, all bosses on the field will die.
There is a known bug we encountered where, on a revival of Animus and Gnoster, the duo will appear out of bounds. Only ranged attacks can reach them. However, once separated, Gnoster will no longer be able to re-enter the arena field. This is one of the few times that a bug is actually helpful, as the only enemies left are Anim𝔍us and Faurtis.
Therefore, the way to end this fight is to defeat Animus. To damage Animus, you can:
- Attack in melee at the end of Red Pillars of Light.
- Used ranged attacks on Animus.
- Hit possessed enemies (split damage).
- Continuously defeat the two bosses on the ground.
The last is possible because the possession Animus performs will remove a large chunk of health.
You can strike Animus and the possesse🧔d boss for great sums of damage at the end of a possession as well. After an Ultimate, the possessed boss will be inert for several seconds, allowing you to hit both.
The best strategy to deal with Everdark Sovereign: Sentient Pest is to follow these steps:
- Choose the boss that you like fighting the most and focus on that boss with two players.
- The third player should focus on distracting and slowly dealing damage to the other boss.
- Focus on dealing lots of damage during the beginning and end of any Animus possession.
- Where possible, deal damage to Animus (especially if you have a ranged group).
- Ideally, the second possession should take place when both bosses are knocked out, meaning there is only one boss up on the field.
If one of your party members falls during this fight, the best time to revive them is at the end of an Animus possession when he and his host are incapacitated and when Gnoster is performing a dig atta🎉ck. Party Members should be left alone if an Ultimate attack or the Red Pillars of Light are active.
Eventually, with a♈ lot of patience (this is a very long f൲ight) and no small amount of juggling, you will overcome the Sentient Pest.
As a reward for the first clear of the fight, you will receive x25 Sovereign Sigils as well as the right to purchase a new Relic from the Collector Signboard:
- Increase Maximum FP
- Successive Attacks restore FP
- Opening Sorcerer's Rises permanently increases Maximum FP
