The darkness of water is♐ just as fearsome as the night, as ꦇElden Ring Nightreign's Maris will teach you.

The , is truly unlike any other Nightlord, and will fight on whatever grounds are mo💜st inconvenient to you. Able to fight up close and at range, they can close the gap in the blink of an eye. They can🥂 play defensive too, or become an unstoppable beast at a moment's notice, and that's if neither of you have been driven mad first.

Equilibrious Beast's Strengths And Weaknesses

Elden Ring Nightreign Equilibrious Beast expedition menu description.

Libra, unlike many of the Nightlords, does actually have a complex moveset. He effectively has two modes of combat - ranged magic, and melee physical. To this end, your distance from Libra should also determine the tactics and damage types you are🧸 usi🐼ng.

When fighting at range, Libra's main form of attack is Madness. Ironically though, this Madness is also his undoing, and he is just as susceptible to it as you are. When afflicted, he will go into a rage and exclusively use melee attacks, giving you a reprieve🔯 from his magical attacks. That said, weapons with Madness are quite hard to come by, 🅠so it is best not to rely on it as the primary means of attack against Libra. You should instead focusing on bolstering your own ailment resistance.

    • Madness
    • Strike
    • Fire
  • Weaknesses

    • Madness
    • Holy
    • Fire
    • Slash

However, while nothing will damage Libra quite to the extent of Madness, he does still have a few other major weaknesses. This comes in both Holy and Fire, with a lesser weakness to Slash attacks as well. Holy and Fire are much easier to come across and are the real affinities yo𝓀u should be aiming for when coming into a battle with Libra.

Just like with Madness though, many of Libra's attacks will also deaꦑl Fire damage, so it is worth seeking out affinity resistances while going through the first two days as well.

With Libra, you want a diverse team. Ironeye is a given here for effective ranged damage, and the🐭 availabilt𝔍y of a bow is a massive help in disrupting some of Libra's most powerful attacks.

However, you also should bring a more sturdy ally like Guardian or Raider. If you can keep close to Libra, you can bait him into performing mainly me🌜lee attacks, which are significantly weaker than his Madness attacks.

Wylder fits a good middle ground here. While he is not quite as strudy as Guardian and Raider, nor does he have the ranged capabilities of Ironeye, he has much more agility and can eꦰasily close the gap when Libra moves in on ranged allies.

Equilibrious Beast's Moveset

Like other Nightlords, Libra is split into two phases, with the second being more an empowered extension of the original. However, Libra is a bit more than that, too. He can change between ranged and melee, and both of these attack modes are empowered through his second phase. So🌠 you are effectively keeping an awareness of🍬 four modes all at once.

  • Phase 1

    Attack

    Description

    Counter

    Madness Drop

Libra will summon a ball 𝔉of Madness then throw it above him, which then shoots out𒊎 three bursts out Madness.

This isn't hard to dodge if you are at range or up close to Libra. It is meant to target those at medium range. It i🎃s otherwise easy to avoid. It will also leave behind crystals which reduce Madness when picked up.

    Madness Sigil

Libra will ca🐻st a large sigil on the ground which does a massive explosioဣn after a moment. This deals Madness and knocks you down no matter what.

After it appear, runn out of it or time your dodge for a moment after it appears. If you dodge as soon ꧅as it appears, you will most likely finish your dodge before the explosion goes off and still get caught in it.

    Madness Rotating cannon

Libra will summon a sigil in front of t🅠hemself that fires out a volley or Madn💃ess bullets while slowly rotating.

Stay behind the volley or move to the direction opposite it is turning to avoid i▨ts barrage.

    Staff combo

Wꦑhen close to Libra, he will attack with his staffꦍ. This will have two swings, followed by a final slam.

This attack is only performed when near to Libra. Kee🐭p your distance, or block if it you are playing🐽 as Guardian. Baiting this combo can stop him casting Madness spells.

    Charging Slam

Rarely, Libra will try to close in on ranged enemies. He will stan𝓡d still for a moment before leaping at a character and slammi♏ng with their staff.

Always keep on the move, and dodge just before Libra ꧒reaches you. Be aware that even at a distance, he can still close the gap.

    Meditation

Libra will float in float and cast a shield around themself and 🌃multiple sigil. Upon completion, Libra gets a defense boosts and will cast more powerful M🃏adness spells.

🌌Either break the sigils around Libra, or use an Ultimate Art to break the shield♉. This will cancel Libra's Meditation, and cause him to briefly shift to a new moveset.

    Madness Slam And Burst

After canceling his Meditation or afflicting him with Madness, Libra will charge around the arena using physical attacks imbue with Madness. Each slam will be accompanied by a Ma🍸dness burst, and the final hit will have a massive Madness explosion.

Take this time to in🔴flict as much damage on Libra as you can since he will not react to you other🐻 than to use more physical attacks.

    Enraged Charge

Like the regula༺r Charging Slam, Libra will charge at ranged characters while Enraged for heavy damag𝐆e and Madness.

This one is harder 🍸to avoid, so try to dodge at the last second and run away if ♓you're a more fragile target.

  • Phase 2

    Attack

    Description

    Counter

    Teleport

A꧑fter casting a Madness Sigil, Libra may teleport to it instead of making it explode.

Keep on the move, and avoid any Madness Sigil⛄s you see on🌟 the floor.

    Enhanced Madness Drop

rather than just a single Madness Drop, Libra will now cast three of them at once, and they can al🐈l fire multiple times before disappearing.

Like bef𒁏ore, keep close or quite far away. The damage is deals is small, and mainly builds up Madness. However, this also means many more crystals that remove Madness will remain.

    Enhanced Madness Sigil

As before, Libra 💛will summ𒈔on Madness Sigils that explode. Except many more of them this time.

Same as before, dodge a momenဣt after they appear to avoid being caught in the explosion, and avoid accidentally being caug💟ht in another.

    Madness Miasma

After a large ser🔥ies of attacks, Libra will slam his staff into the ground multiple times, summoning a Madness Miasma across the whole arena.

The only way to cancel this atta꧃ck is to break Libra's stance, so save your Ultimate Arts for this. Otherwise, you will be afflicted with Madness unless you can pick up enough Madness Crystals.

The trick to managing Libra is sticking to your guns. If you are a ranged character, then stay at range๊, even when he attempts to close the gap on you. Trying to get closer to him and moving frantically will likely just cause you to run into the Madness Drops and Sigils. So stick to your strategy.

Tips For Beating Equilibrious Beast

Deals that can be taken before engaging with Libra in Elden Ring Nightreign.

When you first enter the arena with Libra, you can first make a deal with them before the actual fight. These change each time you enter the battle, so they can be very different in each fight. However, you can always choose to not take a deal if you realꦑly don't want to disrupt your strategy. There is no negative to this𒊎.

On top of this, bring a bow. When Libra enters Meditation, they summon a bunch of sigils. If you manage to destroy these, they will summon even more the next time they enter Meditation, and there will always be at least one in the air. Since magi♒c cannot be aimed manually, a ranged weapon like a💛 bow is the next best thing.

After beating Libra, you get even more Traces of Night, and a unique relic that gives you a guaranteed way to generate Madness.
