EA has a couple of different superhero projects in the works at the moment, with both Iron Man and 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Black Panther getting their own respective games. We haven't heard much about either 1🧔68澳洲幸运5开奖网:ever since they were casual🌟ly announced, but while we have 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:heard a few details about Iron Man, it seems liꦫke there's a reason why we haven't heard much about Black Panther.

That's because EA has decided to scrap the project entirely, despite setting up a whole studio just for its development. Cliffhanger Games was just👍 formed in 2023, and included some developers that worked on Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, but has now been shut down alongside the cancelation of its debut Black Panther title.

, which broke the news about the cancelation, EA Entertainment president Laura Miele sent an internal email to staff claiming that the reason for the game's cancelation and closure of Cliffhanger was to "sharpen our focus a♎nd put our creative energy behind the most significant growth opportunities."

It was also revealed that several more developers across EA's central teams and mobile division have also been laid off as part of this move, though the exact number was not disclosed. However, it is thought to be less than the 300 developers that were laid off across🥃 Respawn last month, which saw an in-development Titanfall game also scrap𒁏ped.

"These decisions are hard. They affect people we’ve worked with, learned from, and shared real moments with. We’re doingಞ everything we can to sup♑port them — including finding opportunities within EA, where we’ve had success helping people land in new roles."

As for what EA is going to "sharpen" its focus on, Miele apparently went on to explain that the publisher now plans on going all in on a handful of franchises - those being Battlefield, The Sims, Skate, and Apex Legends - while also promising support for EA Motive's Iron Man game and the next installment in the Star Wars Jedi🦹 series.

In any case, it's unsettling times for those working at EA at the moment, with this being the third round of layoffs in 2025 alone. Both Respawn and BioWare have been hit with layoffs and restructured since the start of the year, as it appears EA is drastically scaling back its output to focus on the moreౠ guarant﷽eed heavy hitters like Battlefield 6.

Thankfully, we will get to see Black Panther in a big single-player game soon, despite this game's cancellation. We know that the hero will feature heavily in Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra alongside Captain America, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:tho💧ugh that was recently delayed iಞnto 2026. Still, I'd rather take a short delay over a full-b♔lown cancellation.
