Dying Light: The Beast's Biggest New Feature Disappointed Me
The new chapter in the Dying Light series shows everything we love about it, but its new tri⛎ck raises some questions.
It wasn't all good news, though. Shortly after the new trailer was released, , which is seemingly a bit more than fans were expecting. Although The Beast is a standalone game, it seems that the gameplay hasn't convinced fans that it couldn't have just been an expa✨nsion for Dying Light 2.
Dying Light: The Beast Looks Very Familiar To Dying Light 2 Players
"I Was Really Hoping They Would Change It Up Way More"
For those that don't knಞow, , before Techland decided to expand on it and make it a standalone release. While that sounds great for Dying Light fans, it seems that a fair few think that it hasn't earned its $50 price tag from what we've seen.
Over on the Dying Light subreddit, , who noted that they were "disappointed" with how little The Beast look🅘s to have changed from Dying Light 2. They say that the lighting, flashlight, and car (as well as the Beast transformation) are the only real new things, while the combat, weapons, and zombies all look to be the same as before.
It seems that a decent number of Dying Light fans agree with that statement, as a lot of the replies are pointing out how familiar everything is, and sayin꧃g that Techland should have at least updated the animations and textures, as a lot of things have been brought over from Dying Light 2. While that's not neccesarily a bad thing, about how close the two games really are.
also have a lot ꦰof fans pointing out how similar The Beast looks to Dying Light 2, so it's not just the subreddit tha♔t has noticed.
Of course, it's worth keepi☂ng in mind that there's likely a lot about The Beast that we haven't been shown just yet. We're stꦗill a few months away from launch, after all, so there are bound to be some more differences and things that set it apart from the rest of the series. For now, though, it seems that fans are disappointed that it doesn't look like a true standalone game.
