Infamous creatures that require a lot of prior communication between players and DMs before they're even implemented, incubi and succubi lull you into a false sense of security before draining your life force with a kiss. To obviously weary players who'll immediately catch on, they have abilities that can help them succeed.

The first is the Shapechanger ability, which can be used to trick players into trusting the incubus long enough for them to use their Ch⛦arm ability, which has a decently high DC and lasts for a whole day. Then, all they need to do is command a kiss, which deals a whopping 5d10+5 damage.

168澳洲幸运5开奖♌网:Highly intelligent and soulless beings, mind flayers f🀅eed on brains, and the smarter the prey the tastier the brain. To do this effectively and without raising alarm, mind flayers can cast Dominate Monster to force them to submit to a lobotomy or even aid in the creation of a new mind flayer.

They also have access to Detect Thoughts, which can help them in carefully choosing their targets or learning information that can be used in deception. If all else fails, they have a stunning attack that allows them to🔥 make an escape or a last-ditch effort for a meal.

These include telepathic communication, automatic psychic damage, and hear the thoughts of linked creatures while seeing through their eyes and hearing through their ears. This means that players will need to prepare very carefully before even setting foot in an elder brain's domain or risk exhaustion or worse.

5 Aboleths

More than just terrifying, tentacled horrors, aboleths are highly intelligent creatures that crave the subjugation of others. The main ability that allows an aboleth to do this is Enslave, which charms a creature nearly indefinitely as long as they are relatively close to the aboleth and don't take damage.

Since the abole🌊th can have any number of enslaved humanoids, it will likely be able to form a very large force should it remain uncontested. The aboleth can also drain the health of those it charmed while being able to speak with them telepathically, making its mind control ability especially powerful.

An aboleth's lair requires a large amount of water to make it dangerous.

4 Ghosts

Perfect for horror campaigns, ghosts can achieve mind control by physically possessing humanoids and taking control of th🐭eir bodies until either the body is destroyed or the gh♔ost chooses to leave. This can lead to interesting role-playing moments where the ghost must convince other party members they are who they say they are.

Since only the ghost needs to see the target to possess it, that means it can remain in the ethereal plane and choose its target indiscriminately, even when the group is crowded together, and on a success no one will know. The only weakness of this is the ghost can't access its target's memories.

Ghosts that are actively possessing a humanoid are still weak to anti-undead effects such as Turn U🌜ndead.

3 Harpies

A popular 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:tale told among sailors is of sirens that sing so beautifully it drives you to walk overboard and drown in the hazardous ♊sea. In D&D, these creatures are harpies, with talons and wings able to lure their targets closer through a magical melody tha🌌t entrances all who hear it.

This effect is more reliable with multiple harp💃ies, where one chooses to keep up theౠ Luring Song while the others make meals of the charmed targets. There is also a harpy matriarch, whose power is harder to resist and can even paralyze creatures it can see.

2 Rakshasa

The ultimate creature of deception, a rakshasa is a powerful fiend that has access to multitudes of spells that give them full control of the minds of their targets. Dominate Person, Suggestion, Detect Thoughts, and True Seeing are a rakshasa's best tools for forcing its prey to submit without unseen resistance.

Additionally, a rakshasa has access to Disguise Self, Major Image, and a +10 to deception, making insight and perception checks to reveal a rakshasa especially difficult. With a DC 18 to spell saving throws, this creature 🌠can be almost impossible to reveal or avoid without a bit of luck or magical power.

1 Vampires

Strahd von Zarovich by Martin Mottet

Masters of charm, guile, and bloodlust, a vampire doesn't require force to control their victims into giving their blood freely. By using their Charm action, a vampire can convince their target to protect and trust them long enough to allow for a willing bite or to turn against their allies.

Compared to other charm effects of most creatures, a vampire's charm allows them to command pretty much any action for their prey to take, even if it is directly harmful to themselves. If they are successful in draining the charmed target, they can turn them into 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:a vampire spawn, which g💃ives them full control until either dies again.
