Introduced as a subclass for cleric within a crossover between Magic: The Gathering and 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Dungeons & Dragons, the Order Cleric made its way into the hearts of players as an official domain in Tasha's Cauldron Of Everything. Order is a principled, disciplined, and logical clerical domain, frequently following a strict code laid out by their god.

Perhaps best described as the ultimate 'lawfully aligned' character, the Order Cleric believes that law comes above all. Leaders are meant to enforce the law, people are meant to obey it, and any rogue elements among the two must be removed to ensure people's safety and security.

Peace Cleric 5e Adventuring Party
You Come to the Gnoll Camp by Billy Christian

Chaos is distrusted and detested among the clergy and deities of the Order Domain. While the belief in law above everything else may seem extreme, the reality is that god🍌s with all sorts of portfolios may take an interestℱ in upholding a system.

Here are some ideas for a deity your Order Cler🅘ic may worship:

God

Description

Bane

Bane, one of The Dead Three, symbolizes the idea that the weak should be conquered by the strong, attaching ambition and control to his portfolio. He favors those who see themselves as bringers of order and aids adventurers who show particular mettle... to his own sinister enඣds.

Maglubiyet

Chief deity and leader of the goblinoid species, Maglubiyet demands sacrifices of his followers. He conveys omens to worshipers through benig🌄n natural occurrences, such as the way a shadow falls or the spatter of blood from an axe.

Asmodeus

The King of the Nine Hells is a charismatic and lawful being, in stark contrast to what many believe him to be on the Material Plane. A deity of indulgence, oppression, and power, Asmodeus is often described as an authoritarian god who seeks control over as many planes and pe𒀰ople as he can.

Erathis

The goddess of civilization, law, and order. In the Wildemount campaign setting, she is entangled in a relationship wi🔴th the godde🍃ss Melora.

Waukeen

The goddess of merchants and deals, Waukeen is a lesser deity who patrons merchants. She detests being cheated and emphasizes holding up one's end of a bargain.

Wee Jas

Wee Jas is a goddess from Greyhawk who presides over death, vanity, magic, and the law.

Order Domain Cleric Features

A wise cleric traveling.

The Order Cleric is a class that gives you proficiency with heavy armor, allowing you to let your cleric work more as a tank than other clerics. You'll also gain proficiency in Persuasion and Intimidation.

At first level, you gain your first feature upon cho🐎osi🌞ng your subclass.

  • Voice of Authority

    • If you cast a spell (not a cantrip!) and target your own ally, they use their reaction immediately after the spell to make one weapon attack against a creature of your choice. You have to be able to see them.
    • If the spell targets more than one ally, such as Mass Healing Word, you get to choose the ally who can make the attack.

At second level, you can unlock your Channel Divinity,

  • Channel Divinity: Order's Demand

    • You present your holy symbol as an action, and each creature that you designate (within thirty feet of you) makes a Wisdom saving throw. They'll be charmed by you until damaged or the end of your next turn upon failing that saving throw.
    • You can make the charmed creatures drop what they are holding, which is a unique feature and a useful one against martial enemies.

At sixth level, your magic begins to compel others.

  • Embodiment of the Law

    • If you cast a spell from the enchantment school, you can change the spell's casting time to a single bonus action, as long as the spell's casting time is a single action.
    • You regain all uses of it when you finish a long rest.

When you hit eighth level, you can deal radiant 🔯damage after making a weapon attack.

  • Divine Strike

  • After you hit a creature with a weapon attack, you can deal an extra 1d8 psychic damage to the target. You can do this once per turn. The damage increases to 2d8 when you hit fourtee🧸nth level.

At seventeenth level, you receive your last feature.

  • Order's Wrath

    • When you deal your Divine Strike damage, you can curse that creature until your next turn. The next time an ally hits the marked creature, the target will also take 2d8 psychic damage. The curse ends promptly after.
    • You can only curse a creature in this way once every turn.

Wisdom is your spellcasting modifier, and you'll be happy with it as your primary ability score. It also affects a good bunch of your skill checks, such as Perception and Insight, which are good to have high passives in.

Constitution will be the next best ability score to focus on, as Constitution is going to affect your hit point maximum. Normally, Dexterity would be next, but you can actually make a strong case for Strength, seeing as your cleric will have a heavy armor proficiency. That being said, Dexterity also determines your armor class, so make sure you know the build you're going for.

Trying to acclimate your character to armor and tanking may have you prioritizing Strength over Dexterity for heavier armors, whereas if you're planning on focusing more on spellcasting, you may be happier prioritizing Dexterity over Strength for armor class.

Charisma will be next, followed by Intelligence. Or vice versa, depending on your preference.

For an Order Cleric planning to utilize your armor proficiency, consider dragonborn or goliath as a choice for species. Goliath's Stone's Endurance lets you reduce the damage you take, and dragonborn has a breath weapon that will come in handy in close quarters.

You don't get martial weapon proficiency, so you don't need to worry about choosing a species that does extra damage when in melee range because you have a Divine Strike. If you want to boost it anyway, you might consider half-orc or elf.

For an Order Cleric planning on being a spellcaster, yuan-ti, triton, and aasimar boast some resistances that will make you more durable in the face of other spellcasters and common damage types. Kalashtar, by contrast, gives you resistance to psychic damage, which isn't commonly resisted, as well as advantage on Wisdom saving throws, which you are already proficient in.

Half-elf and elf let you be immune to sleep spells and give you access to Wizard cantrips with the high elf subspecies.

One might note that Voice of Authority specifies using a spell slot, anღd while having innate casting never hurts, it may als𒊎o be a headache to remember whether the spell you use is eligible.
