What Is A Runecarver?
Before you can join the lifestyle, you'll need to understand the requirements. Runecraft was an art form invented by the giants, and then passed down to other species. Finally more widespread, rune carvers are those who have made a life out of the study of runecraft.
This style of rune magic has become more popular, and if your character is interested in giant lore and learning more about rune craft, becoming a runecarver is♔ the first step on that journey.
While giants founded the craft, because it's become popularized by other species, you'll be able to find runes with sprinkles of other cultures within them.

Runecarver Feature: Rune Shaper
This feature grants you the Comprehend Languages spell to cast once per long rest wཧithout a spell slot, or you c♛an use it with a spell slot.
It also gives you the ability to cast Rune Magic. You can inscribe the runes you know onto non-magical objects♉ you can touch, such as weapons, clothes, armor etc.
Once inscribed, you can invoke the rune while holding or using whatever object you've inscribed it to, casting the spell within the rune for free with no spell slot or component requirements.
Essentially, this feature allows you to store the specified spell based on the giant type on an object you can use to ca♊st it later f💜or free.
The spell you get to inscribe is based on the type of rune you've chosen to learn. You can replace the rune type with another when you level up.
