Have you ever wanted to stab your enemies, but they're just too far away? Well, now you can! Many classes also have access to them, allowing you a lot of freedom when building your character.
To give you even more freedom, an💃d a lot of power, the▨re are also many feats you can choose from to improve your aim. This list contains a selection of the best, from attacking with bows and crossbows to shooting with spells.
10 Sharpshooter (Player's Handbook)
A must-have for anyone with ranged weapons, Sharpshooter takes some inconveniences away while giving you a nice damage burst, if you're willing to take it.
Firstly, you no longer get a disadvantage for attacking people out of your weapon's range. You can also ignore half and three-quarters cover, allowing you to hit anyone as long as you see them a little. Lastly, on each attack you can choose to give yourself a huge minus five penalty to hit, but increase your damage by ten — if you hit it, that is. It's a bit of a gamble, but ten extra hit points of damage is a good perk to have.
9 Crossbow Expert (Player's Handbook)
Despite the name, this feat is useful with any ranged weapon, though it will be better for those with crossbows. The most interesting part here, that every ranged character can take advantage of, is the fact that shooting while having an enemy five feet away from you will stop giving you disꦯadvantage.
For the crossbow lovers out there, not only can you ignore the loading characteristic, but if you attack with your action using a one-handed weapon, you can use your bonus action to fire a hand crossbow. This allows you to fight with bo🌳th melee and ranged attacks, for instance, giving you full versatility.
8 Gunner (Tasha's Cauldron Of Everything)
If your scena🍬rio has guns, then this feat is your friend. It is essentially Crossbow Expert, but for firearms꧟. It gives you proficiency with these weapons, with a plus of giving you one point for your Dexterity ability score.
It also allows you to ignore the loading characteristic in firearms, as well as ignore the disadvantage of using a gun while having an enemy five feet away from you. As we said, it's essentially Crossbow Expert. Still, guns cause a lot more damage, so if your game has them, it's an excellent choice.
7 Elven Accuracy (Xanathar's Guide To Everything)
Do you know what's better than advantage? An extra roll. For all the Elves and Half-Elves out there, this feat will make your ranged attacks even more accurate. It can even help with spellcasters, as well as melee damage with finesse weapons — which is almost any attack you can make.
You get one ability score point that you can put in either Dexterity, Wisdom, Charisma, or Intelligence. Whenever you have advantage on an attack that relies on one of those ability scores, you can roll one of the dice again. Essentially, even if you get a bad number with both dice, you can roll one more time. And even if you do hit, you can roll the lowest value again just to see if you don't get a natural 20 or a better than original roll. DMs really love banning this 'triple advantage' feat though, so talk to your DM beforehand if this is part of your build.
6 Magic Initiate (Player's Handbook)
One of the biggest problems when relying on ranged weapons is ammo. Though some DMs don't really count these things, it may still be something you have to look out for.
This feat will depend on what build you're making, but if you have no spells, then Magic Initiate allows you to choose one class between Bard, Cleric, Druid, Sorcerer, Warlock, or Wizard, and take two cantrips — plus a level one spell that you can use once per long rest — so you can have something that doesn't rely on ammo without having to go all melee with a dagger. If you do have spells already, this might not be as helpful. However, you can mix and match spells from different classes together, especially if it's a class that casts spells with the same ability score as yours.
5 Spell Sniper (Player's Handbook)
The Sharpshooter for magic users, Spell Sniper is very useful in keeping a safe distance between you and pesky martial enemies. Not only do you gain a cantrip similar to Magic Initiate (just one cantrip, though), but your spells that include attack rolls have their range doubled. They'll ignore half and three-quarters cover as well.
This allows you to attack enemies from huge distances, giving the feat's name justice. This feat requires you to be able to cast a spell, making it perfect for a spellcaster. Still, if you're a martial who wants something like a Fire Bolt just in case you're out of ammo, you can get Magic Initiate beforehand and fill the prerequisites for Spell Sniper.
4 Dragon Fear (Xanathar's Guide To Everything)
For this feat to work, it'd be good if you have a sound Wisdom score. Oh, and you have to be a Dragonborn. However, it is a suitable method of self-defense, in case you fail to prevent annoying melee enemies from reaching you.
Aside from giving you an ability score to add to either your Strength, Constitution, or Charisma, this allows you to use your breath weapon as a powerful roar that will intimidate creatures of your choosing around you. If your enemies fail saving throws, they'll be feared for one minute, or until they're attacked. So, instead of just running away, you can also make your enemies run from you, allowing you to get a good distance from them all over again.
3 Fey Touched (Tasha's Cauldron Of Everything)
Speaking of running away strategic retreats, Fey Touched will give you one of the best methods of escaping enemies for free — Misty Step, a level two spell that allows you to teleport 30 feet from where you are with your bonus action. You can also choose another spell, as long as it's a Divination or Enchantment, and as long as they're first-level spells. You can cast Misty Step and your spell choice once 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:per long rest. However, if you are a spellcaster, you can cast them again using your spell slots. Finally, you'll get one extra ability point in Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma.
Similarly, you'll get Fey Teleportation, that allows you to use Misty Step once per short rest among other things. However, you have to be a High Elf in order to get this feat.
2 Elemental Adept (Player's Handbook)
One of the most annoying things about spellcasting is having enemies that are resistant to a certain type of damage — especially when your build involves a lot of spells with the same type of damage. For instance, lots of spells use fire, and lots of creatures have fire resistance. How do you use 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:the most deadly spells of that type, then?
Elemental Adept can be taken by anyone who can cast spells. You choose one element, and it'll pass through enemies' resistances. You can also pick this feat multiple times for different elements. Just keep in mind that it'll not beat immunities, though. It also treats any damage roll of one as a two, as long as they use the element you chose.
1 War Caster (Player's Handbook)
Lastly, but certainly not least, is War Caster, which is perfect for anyone who fights with spells. It allows you to cast somatic spells even if you have items on both hands, so you won't be that defenseless when casting. And that's not even the best part.
You can also use spells on opportunity attacks (single target only though, and they have to cost an action normally). Besides all that, you can also roll any concentration saving throw in advantage, so it'll be a lot harder to lose spell concentration.
