Originally released with the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Dungeons & Dragons setting book Eberron: Rising From The Last War in 2019, the artificer has been a welcome addition to the game. However, the artificer is among the most underutilized and underplayed classes at the same time. While it's difficult to pin down why exactly this is the case, it's fair to assume that the class's absence from the original Player's Handbook, as well as its fantasy antithetical flavor, may be to blame.

After all, most Dungeons & Dragons players aren't fantasizing about playing an Iron Man-esque character in a traditional fantasy setting. Nevertheless, the artificer has a ton of boons to offer any D&D adventuring party: most of them rearing their heads in the form of infusions. Artificer infusions are a process by which an artificer turns a regular item into a magical one. Artificers are capable of giving these magic items to other players or simply using them themselves.

8 ༺ Spell-Refueling Ring 𒀰

Wizards & Spells Cover Art by Conceptopolis

Prerequisite:

6th level

Attunement required:

Yes

The spell-refueling ring is an artificer infusion that allows an artificer to turn a normal ring into one that can restore a spell slot of up to third level as an action once per day. In other words, this ri🗹ng functions exactly like the pearl of power magic item. Depending on your party composition and your dungeon master, this ring can be an absolute godsend or relatively useless.

For example, a party featuring a warlock or a handful of half-casters will be very excited about the opportunity to cast even more of their most powerful spells. This goes doubly so if the dungeon master of the𝓰 game in question typically throws a lot of encounters at the party before allowing them to take a long rest. However, parties with multiple full casters or games where the dungeon master is lenient with long rests will find this pretty much a waste of an infusion.

7 Resistant Armor ꦗ 🧸

Dungeons & Dragons A Warrior In Full Armor With Sword And Shield
The Godborn by Tyler Jacobson

Prerequisite:

6th level

Attunement required:

Yes

This infusion provides a suit of armor with resistance to one of the following damage types of your choice: acid, cold, fire, force, lightning, thunder, necrotic, poison, psychic, or radiant. For all intents and purposes, it functions exactly as the armor of resistance found in the DMG (Dungeon Master's Guide).

Like the spell-refueling ring, this infusion is situational. If your party happens to have knowledge about a powerful enemy they are soon to face as well as that enemy's most frequent damage type, the armor of resistance will do a character wonders by essentially reducing said enemy's damage output by half. Talk about being prepared.

6 ﷽ Enhanced Weapon 🀅

Prerequisite:

None

Attunement required:

No

Enhanced Weapon turns a normal nonmagical weapon into a magical weapon that provides a +1 bonus to atta💎ck and damage rolls. Once you reach tenth level in the artificer class, this bonus increases to +2.

Aside from not having a prerequisite and not requiring attunement, the best thing about this infusion is that it provides your martial characters with a way to overcome nonmagical weapon 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:damage resistance. This resistance is abundant across many enemies at all levels of play, so it's very important for martial characters to find a way to surpass it. With an artificer in the party, this is one less problem for the players to worry about.

5 Replicate Mag♊ic Item

Prerequisite:

2nd level

Attunement required:

Sometimes

This is the artificer's most versatile infusion, as it allows the artificer to craft over 30 different magic items by the time they reach 14th level. Furthermore, this infusion can be learned multiple times, allowing the artificer to craft 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:multiple magic items from the replicate tables.

The list of replicable items is too long to feature here. Suffice it to say, though, this infuﷺsion provides you with a boatload of options that are applicable in numerous situations. Some of the most popular items included are the bag of holding, boots of elvenkind, slippers of spider climbing, and boots of speed. Whatever your party might need, chances are that this infusion provide🌊s a possible solution.

4 🔯 🍨 Helm Of Awareness

Prerequisite:

10th level

Attunement required:

Yes

The helm of awareness provides a benefit that's similar to the weapon of warning magic item while being slightly worse. Even so, the bonuses this helm provides are difficult to ignore, and many dungeon masters are averse to handing out a weapon of warning because it nearly ends up taking a fun mechanic for the dungeon master out of the game.

This helm provides its wearer with advantage on initiative rolls and makes them immune to being surprised as long as they aren't incapacitated. Advantage on all initiative rolls is already a huge benefit considering most combats last around three rounds in total. Pairing this bonus with immunity to the surprised condition is almost too good to be true, hence the level ten prerequisite.

3 ♚ Mind Sharpener ไ

Dungeons & Dragons a wizard performing the sematic components of a spell
Tasha's Cauldron Of Everything Alternate Art By Wizards Of The Coast

Prerequisite:

None

Attunement required:

No

Every previous item on this list is accessible as a magic item without having an artificer in the party. However, the following items are artificer-exclusive magic items that come with bonuses you won't find anywhere else in the game. Consequently, they are the best infusions that the artificer has to offer.

If you're someone who absolutely despises losing concentration on your spells, look no further than this infusion. Mind sharpener infuses a suit of armor or robes to allow their wearer the ability to choose to succeed on a failed concentration check as a reaction up to four times per day. The fact that you don't even have to reroll the concentration check and automatically succeed instead makes this arguably the best infusion the artificer has to offer if used on the right spellcaster.

2 Radiant Weapon 🎃

Vorpal Sword by Caio Monteiro

Prerequisite:

6th level

Attunement required:

Yes

Radiant Weapon is similar to enhanced weapon in that it provides a +1 bonus to attacks and damage rolls with a nonmagical weapon and makes it magical. However, it also provides the added benefit of allowing the weapon's user to cause the weapon to shed bright light in a 30-foot radius and dim light an additional 30 feet as a bonus action. That's not all, though.

The icing on the cake here is that the weapon also comes with four charges. Any time the weapon's wielder is hit by an attack, they can use their reaction to spend a charge and force the attacker to make a Constitution saving throw against your spell save DC. On a failure, the target becomes blinded until the end of their next turn. In other words, this weapon has a chance to grant your allies advantage against the attacking target while imposing disadvantage on the attacker's next attacks as a reaction. This is especially good on 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:melee-focused characters. Holy action economy, Batman.

1 Homunc♏ulus Servant ♒

Dungeons & Dragons an elf wizard and her owl familiar
Dungeons & Dragons Player's Handbook Art by Wizards of the Coast

Prerequisite:

A gem or crystal worth 100gp

Attunement required:

No

Speaking of the action economy, the homunculus servant takes the cake for best infusion thanks to giving your artificer better use of it. This infusion does require your artificer to secure a gem or crystal worth 100gp, though, so be sure to remind your dungeon master of this valuable treasure you're after every game session until he generously provides one.

This infusion creates a servant under your command that you can control after your turns as a bonus action. Without the homunculus, the artificer doesn't really have anything worthy to do with its bonus actions at all. Consequently, any artificer in their right mind will want to craft up their very own servant as soon as possible. The servant becomes stronger as you level as well, so it stays relevant all game long. Additionally, it comes with some cool features that allow for unique gameplay. Namely, its channel magic ability allows you to cast a spell with a range of touch through the servant. Robot pokemon, I choose you!
