Borderwatch ShopA screenshot from Dragon's Dogma 2 showing the player character in the Borderwatch shop with a forge nearby.

When you finish the prologue, you'll be in the northern part of the map near Melve and the Borderwatch Outpost.

While the former will eventually be cleared of most NPCs after you liberate Harve, the Borderwatch Outpost will serve most of your needs early in the game.

In addition to these consistent merchants, you can also find traveling merchants with backpacks on the road and in settlements. However, you can usually find their wares in regular shops.

The primary shopkeeper is Kassandra, and she runs the Borderwatch Commissary.

Once you're fully equipped, you can continue south into more plentiful shops in the capital of Vermund for better equipment.

Vernworth Shops

A screenshot from Dragon's Dogma 2 showing the player character standing outside of the armor shop in Vernworth's Merchant section.

Vernworth is the roaring capital of Vermund, the green and lavish country that you'll find yourself in at the beginning of the game. When you finally arrive there, your options for weapons and armor grow exponentially as you canꦡ purchase from specific armor and we𒊎apon vendors.

The three shops that can be found in Vernworth's merchant sector include Roderick's Smithy, Bjorn's Armory, and Philbert's Sundries.

Roderick's Smithy

Roderick's Smithy is the easternmost shop of the three, noticeable by the wooden red sign with different weapons on it. Roderick can also enhance your equipment using the Vermund smithing style.

When you need new armor to keep the monsters' attacks at bay, Bjorn's Armory offers a range of useful equipment for your starting classes.

He can also enhance your armor and weapons with the Vermund smithing style, which will r𓂃e🥃quire various monster resources.

You can also buy a Marcher's Armor set from Philbert's Sundries, but this is used more as a disguise to move around the pal🎶ace than an actual defense.

Harve Village Shop

You can unlock the village of Harve by saving it from the Saurians that have taken over the area following a dragon's attack. Once the threat has been cleared and the people return, you'll be able to visit the shop here, which can give you some minor equipment ꦕif you need it on your way to the Battahl border.

The main shop, unlocked after the villagers return, is Chandler's General Store.

The General Goods store also sells curatives and Ferrystones among its other items.

Grisha's Armory

A screenshot from Dragon's Dogma 2 showing the player character standing in the middle of Grisha's Armory in the elven village.

Once you're allowed to freely move around the Elven settlement of Sacred Arbor, you'll get access to Grisha's Armory. She sells a wealth of magical items and can enhance your gear in the Elven style.

Sacred Arbor can be found in the northern-middle part of Vermund.

Grisha also sells rings and ammo for Archers.

Checkpoint Rest Town Shop

A screenshot from Dragon's Dogma 2 showing the player character standing outside of the weapon and armor shop at the Checkpoint Rest Town on the Vermund-Battahl border.

On the border between Battahl and Vermund, at the Checkpoint Rest Town, it isn't uncommon for skirmishes to break out. Thankfully, you can find an armor and weapon shop combo in the center of the town.

This shop can help you gear up before you head into Battahl or explore the northwest regions of Vermund.

The owner of the Checkpoint weapons and armor shop is Celeste, with the shop being named Celeste's Smithy.

You can also ask Celeste to enhance your gear as long as you've got the right materials. In addition, the Smithy also sells a couple of rings and ammo that Archers can use for abilities.

Bakbattahl Shops

A screenshot from Dragon's Dogma 2 showing the different shops located next to each other in a line in Bakbattahl. Other character can be seen walking and perusing in the market.

Bakbattahl, the capital of Battahl, 💙is very different from Vernworth, with sand covering the cobblestone♒ pathways through the cloth-canopied merchant's area.

Your pawns will be looked down upon in this city, but it's a great place to get quality gear in mid-game.

Like in Vernworth, there are three shops right next to each other in Bakbattahl, including Isaac's Wares, Bodas's Armory, and Awaran's Arms. The two smithing merchants can also upgrade your gear using the Battahli style.

Awaran's Arms

Awaran runs a smithy with some mid to high-level weapons on the west side of the merchant section of Bakbattahl.

Awaran also sells ammo that Archers can use.

Bodas's Armory

Bodas is located in the middle of the three shops and sells mid-to-high-level armor that can protect you in battle.

There are also multiple rings for sale at Bodas's shop.

Dragonforged Shop

A screenshot from Dragon's Dogma 2 showing the player character standing a short distance away from the Dragonforged, who has their back turned to the player.

The Dragonforged is an ancient being, located to the northeast of Bakbattahl in the Bay Wayside Shrine on the greener coast, with a wealth of crafting experience that allows them to make some of the best gear in the game.

However, you won't unlock these weapons in his shop until you get into the end-game.

Before this, you can still buy FerryStones for three crystals, a Portcrystal for 20, or the Unmaking Arrow for eight.

You'll need Wyrmslife Crystals, which can be obtained from scouring dragon habitats and defeating them in battle. The Dragonforged can also use these crystals to enhance your weapon in the Wyrmfire smithing technique.
