Thankfully, it seems that communication in this world isn't as plentiful and it seems like the guards tend to forgive many crimes from day to day. Keeping this in💟 mind, it isn't hard to keep the guards from holding a grudge as long as you can get away without antagonizing them further.

How To Stop Guards From Being Hostile

Whether you happen upon an oxcart on the road or you're walking through a city like Vernworth, you'll likely come across different guards in uniformed regalia. If you have your weapon drawn or they're unsure about you on the road, they may draw their weapons.

Drawing your weapon near a guard in a town will make guards watch you, but they won't attack unless further provoked.

The guards won't instantly attack, but this ready state could give way to an attack if you don't sheathe your weapons or leave the area. If the combat has already started, and you don't want to murder some guards, you'll need to leave the area a⛄nd stay away until the guards have forgiven you.

If a guard is hostile, run outside of the town until they stop chasing you and rest at a campfire to reset them.

Sometimes you'll need to go where the guards don't want you, and you'll be attacked immediately once they notice. One way to walk among the guards without them becoming suspicious is to disguise yourself as one of them.

How To Disguise Yourself As A Guard

Certain missions require you to sneak around guards in places you're not supposed to be. Instead, you can purchase a guard outfit or regal clothes at a specialty seller in Vernworth's market square called 'Philbert's Sundries.'

The set is more reliable than cloaking as a Thief.

Philbert's Sundries can be found on the northwest side of the market square of Vernworth. In addition to selling Ferristones and potions, you can also buy the full set of armor to disguise yourself as a guard.

You can buy the whole set of armor for 4,750 Gold, which is much more affordable than the and breeches at 305,000 Gold. Once purchased, you can equip it to your Arisen and then venture into the castle with more assurance that the guards won't question why you're there.
