Points Of Interest, Explained

A Point of Interest is a generic term in Dragon's Dogma 2 to refer to interactives or things you might otherwise not see during your adventures. One of the more common examples in cities and crowded areas is ladders, which usually lie out of easy reach and require some clever maneuvers.

As with quest objectives, you can order a Pawn to 'Go!' when they call out a Point of Interest and they will attempt to help you retrieve or access the item.

For example, a Pawn that has the 'Levitate' spell can reach a chest that you might not be able to.

However, ladders are far from the only thing your Pawns will point out as a POI that might interest✃ you. So▨me other examples include:

  • Seeker Tokens
  • Destructible bridges and walls
  • Statues that point to valuable items
  • Boulders
  • Siege Equipment
  • Metal doors blocked by wooden planks
  • Chests
  • Other items and secret areas

The biggest thing you can take away when you see an exclamation point in Dragon's Dogma 2 is that your Pawn has seen something that you may be interested in. Keep in mind that these exclamation points can sometimes persist after you've ex♚plored the area to remind you it's there.

Some of these areas will be hard to reach, which means you'll need to get creative if you want to find out what the exclamation point is trying to draw your attention to. Sometimes this will mean using creative plans to get to higher levels or using the environment around the POI to your benefit.

Sometimes you'll need to explore an area further before you understand how to access the POI.

How To Interact With Points of Interest

How you interact with the POI largely depends on what it is, with some being more obvious than others. Everyone knows that you can climb a ladder or push a boulder, but you might be unsure the first time you find a locked door. If you can't pick up or interact with it by pressing a button, consider trying to hit it a few good times.

In cases where you can destroy a bridge or another structure you need, you'll have to wait a few days before it's rebuilt again.

In caves and similar enclosed areas, you can usually find items around that can help you break through a stone boulder or a hidden path to get behind a locked door.
