Devious isn’t normally a positive descriptor. When someone steals my purse or takes the last slice of pizza, the last thing I want to do is praise them. But in the case of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Dragon’s Dogma 2, I can’t help but adore its irritating penchant for nonsense. At every turn, it pulls a trick where I roll my eyes in derision, only to﷽ im💙mediately crack a smile before getting on with it.

The past week has seen plenty of people experiencing the same, namely with 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:the plague that spreads between pawns and threatens to upend entire playthroughs if you don’t keep an eye on it. The last thing you want is to rest at an inn only to wake up the next morning to find your beastren bestie has committed genocide. Let’s be honest, that&r☂squo;s bang out of order.

But this frustration only lends itself to the overall brilliance of Dragon’s Dogma 2, and how it’s not afraid t𒆙o trip the player up and laugh at their misfortune from time to time, especially if its highs are so damn high that soon all will be forgiven. That, and I love when games aren’t too afraid to test my limits, knowing that🐓 hardened audiences will push themselves if what awaits them on the other side is worthwhile. In the case of this masterful sequel, it certainly is.

Putting the plague aside for now though, the༒re are several other dastardly things in Dragon’s Dogma 2 that exist purely to mess with the player, including an arrow whi🐻ch can kill someone in a single hit, but after it makes contact, your game will save and cement this decision for all time. A brilliant and utterly unhinged idea, and one that would only work in a game like this.

Dragon's Dogma 2 - Griffin Battle

There are a number of rare and expensive items to be found across the world that can help make your life much easier, including beetles that improve your carrying capacity and stones that make fast travel possible between different portcrystals. But, for reasons I’d only describe as diabolical, there are also fakes to be found in the open world and at certain merchants. Ones that, when you use them, do absolutely nothing. You will throw a stone into the air hoping it’ll whisk you off to your destination, only to have it clatter onto the ground in a blatant display of forgery. This is annoying, but goodness me, it’s also bloody bri👍lliant.

What makes these fake items truly devilish is how you can trick other players with them. To send a pawn back to their master, you must bestow them with a gift. This could be anything, but it’s always nice to greet your minion and see they brought a ferrystone back with them. I duped items of my own at the Scrap Store in the Checkpoint Rest Town, because I hate you and want to see you suffer. Imagine seeing an item you can’t afford, or come across once in a blue moon, gifted to you for no other reason than kindness, only to find it’s fake as you go to use it. This is barbarically evil, but so wonderfully fitting for a game like Dragon&rs🎉quo;s Dogma 2.

Dragon's Dogma 2 - Magick Archer

The game is always playing tricks on the player with its own machinations, but to give us the agency t🗹o play the v🌼ery same tricks on one another is a work of genius. You could venture to the logical extreme and try to infect everyone with the plague, or plant small seeds of partial irritation that offer up a semblance of hope in the form of precious items before ripping it all away.

Few games can be this dastardly and get away with it, but Dr🔯agon’s Dogma 2 not only does, it is a much stronger experience because it allows us to feel like we’re part of something a bit bigger than ourselves, even if that comes in the form of playing innocent tricks. I’m totally not hurting anyone with my fake beetles and ferrystones, but it sure does feel like it.
