Each time you visit a Weapon Shop or an Armory, you'll have the option to enhance your equipment for yourself or your Main Pawn. You don't get the same enhancement in every location though – each major location has its own Smithing Style which provides slightly different bonuses when enhancing your equipment.

If you're having trouble affording new equipment but want to be more powerful, you can enhance your current equipment to bridge the gap until you can afford new stuff.

These different Smithing Styles can allow you to maximize you or your Pawn's damage and defenses for a particular Vocation, and thus aid you in creating a specific Build or just improve your stats more specifically.

There are a total of three Smithing Styles available throughout the game: Vermundian, Battahlian, and Elvish, and multiple towns may share the same Smithing Style if they're in the same region.

You'll need different Enhancement materials for a piece of equipment depending on the Smithing Style used to enhance it.

Vermundian Smithing Style is the first Smithing Style available, and it's available in two cities in Vermund: Vernworth and Checkpoint Rest Town. The last two locations are located on Agumen Volcanic Island, and you'll need to take one of two routes to be able to reach this꧟ area.
