You see, they let out a hundred balloons, and they need a dashing hero to pop them. Finally, you will be faced with a quest worthy of your grandeur! Each island holds twenty balloons, and while some are pretty much just out in the open, others are extremely maliciously hidden.
This guide is specifically going to lead you to each and every Paternoggin balloon. It is easy to lose your head in pursuit of these floating fiascos. Thankfully, we have already suffered throu🐻gh locating them all,💖 so if you are missing one or two, we can help you find them effortlessly.
A Tale Of Two Islands
The Paternoggin is unique in that it is layered. Which means that there are, essentially, two islands. Suitably, the balloons are evenly distributed across the two halves. So, we have provided two maps; one for the Upper Paternoggin, and one for the Lower Paternoggin. If you don't know how to get to the Lower Paternoggin, you simply need to talk to the expedition member by the fire at the train station and request that they take you to the PIrate's Stockade. While the lower sec♏tion of the Paternoggin does include pretty formidable opponents, you should be able to work your way through them if you are careful.
Upper Paternoggin
The Paternoggin featuRes the Abandoned Factory, the Palatial Ruins, Palatial Plains, Teardrop Falls, and the Sylphanian Stockade. You will find balloons in all of these locations. Though there are no balloons located inside the factory.

From the ruins, head to the east. There is a balloon floating 🅷above the jagged rocks. |

This balloon is floating in front of the cliff. From the path you should be able to see it. |

To the southwest of the map you will find a raised surface. Climb up here, and you will find a balloon hovering under the tree. |

On the eastern section of the map, you will find a stone bridge. There is a balloon wedged underneath this bridge. |

Head to the southeast section of the map. You will see the Teardrop Waterfall. There is a balloon wedged in the corner to the side of this waterfall. |

This balloon is hovering right in from of the small waterfall seen in the southern part of the map. It is near where the Restless Armor patrol. |
|
|
There is a balloon in the Sylphanian Stockade. It is sitting on top of the weather vane near the airship. |
Lower Paternoggin
The Lower Paternoggin is a considerably smaller area, but the balloons are far more deviously hidden. You can't simply follow the map here, as a number of these balloons are hidden inside caves, or are hidden way up above.

This balloon is extremely easy to miss. In the Southern section of the map, there is a waterfall. Behind this waterfall, you will find a cave. Thi🧜s balloon is bobbing around the 🥂ceiling of this cave. If you bring a monster with the Stealth ability, you simply need to take a right when leaving the Pirate's Stockade. Then, climb the cliffs, and slip through the narrow crack. This will place you right in front of the wate🍌rfall. |

Much like the first balloon, you reach this one by entering the cave behind the waterfall. Climb to the top of this cavern, and you will find an exit that places you above the waterfall. The balloon will be in plain sight o🅰ncꦚe you leave that cave. |

This balloon is found on the raised platform in the southeast corner of the map. |

This balloon is quite simply hidden underneath the bridge that leads to the Forsaken Railway Station. |

Smack dab in the center of the map you will find the ruins. On the east side of the ruins, there are a number of Golems. There is also a balloon here. |

If you follow the water that comes from the waterfall in the southern section of the map, you will find a balloon hovering near the bottleneck where it becomes a stream. |

This balloon is on the west side of the island. It is found in the ruins section. |

This Balloon is found in the cavern below the lower section of the Paternoggin. It is off to the side of the cavern. You can get to it from below by using the Stealth Forte, or by getting to it from above. You can get to this cavern by following the path north from the Pirate's Stockade. |

In the northern section of the map, you will find a giant mud pit. Right in the middle of that mud pit, you will find another balloon. |

There is a balloon at the northern tip of the island. However, it is well above you. In order to get to it, look for a wind current rising out of a hallowed out stump. You can crawl through the opening with the Stealth Forte, or hop over the lower wall 🐠with the Launch Forte. Now, stand over the wind current and use a monster with the Glide Forte. The cu♎rrent will give you consi🎀derable height. Just float to the northern tip, land on one of those ginormous leaves, and take aim at the balloon. |
