On the other side of things, not every hit can be a home run. For every iconic powerhouse, there's some wonky bad guy that pl💝ayers are quick to forget. Some characters tend to try too hard, making them even less intimidating for it. If you can't walk the walk then no player is going to bat an eyelid.

10 Terrifying: Yore ෴

There aren't many things more frightening than a 300-year-old demon, especially o🌳ne that has a grudge. Who can blame him? You can't betray an all-powerful being and get away with it. Sealing Yore in a coffin below the castle was a grave mistake for the land of Stornway.

Committing some of the darkest acts in the game's storyline is enough🙈 to put fear into any child. His appearance alone is enough to put them on edge, looking like something from the alien movies, Yore is burnt into the mem♒ories of many who have to seem him.

9 ཧ Fell Flat: Mildrath

There's a reason this calculated villain holds the title of Grandmaster. Big muscles and powerful weapons fall short when you put them beside a genius mind. Without having to put in much effort at all, Nimzo set a domino effect of chaos throughout the e✱ntire game through a series of henchmen and planning.

For an old demon, he's not exactly frail either. Once you get past the long white beard he casts quite a big shadow. He rarely gets his hand dirty, being responsible for some of the most heinous acts performed in Dragon Quest. Even his massive red form looks a little clunky with rolls of chub flowing o꧅ver his feet.

8 Terrifying: Nokturnus 🎃

Before we start to delve into the intimidating character design, his sheer power of will is enough to put the other vill🌼ains to shame. One of the most powerful characters in the game is usജually enough for one character but Nokturnus turns up the heat. Popping up more times than many, he quickly becomes a relentless force to be reckoned with.

He's so overpowered that if you manage to impress him by quickly defeating him, players will unlo🍰ck an alternate ending and take out the final boss in a single blow. Those who saw him in their younger years definitely got a chill, especially when he's aiming that massive bow at you.

7 Fell Flat: Pruslas ౠ 😼

Despite being one of the strongest henchmen around, Pruslas fails to give off the air of power. Even the huge club that he carries around with him wasn't enough to make us flinch. The worst thing is that even being at his giant size he can't fight fair, tricking the player on th🎃eir meeting and getting in a sneak attack to start the battle.

With some of the most menacing character designs around its a wonder why Pruslas ended up👍 looking like he was drawn in a goofy comic. His big, goofy tongue sticking out and a body that doesn't ex♔actly give off the ''agile'' vibe. If players ever did manage to get in trouble fighting him, they could just briskly walk away.

6 Terrifying: Dor🍬a-In-Grey

Coming straight out of a horror movie, Dora-In-Grey is the spirit of a town mural that has taken the form of a small girl's body. If there's anything scarier than sꦡome of the massive villains in the game, a little girl that's trying to steal your soul might take the cake.

While she's not as powerful as some of the main villains of the game, Dora-In-Grey tops the charts for the most sinister operation. Sucking people into ''The Other Side'' when they look at the mural, she'll take 🦋your soul for the s💟ole purpose of becoming more beautiful. Luckily the player will have a chance to put an end to this nightmare.

5 𝓰 Fell Flat: Don Mole

Don Mole needs little explanation as to𝓀 why he's not scary, his chubby frame combined with the tiny black glasses makes him look like a scientist than a villain. Being the leader of a group of moles is one thing but Don Mole's subjects are even turning against him.

RELATED:

The mole kingpin has found himself a mℱiniature harp that he can't stop plucking on. While it's pretty impressive that the blind villain has figured it out at all, his subjects are sick of hearing it and enlist the villain's help. What would have been 𝐆a powerful leader, was turned into an untalented fool.

4 ✨ 𝕴 Terrifying: Orgodemir

Orgodemir is one of the main villains in all of Dragon Quest, with looks that could kill. ཧCombine a 🌼caterpillar and a dragon with a little Megamind thrown in. As soon as the players look into all three of his glowing red eyes the shivers are bound to start.

Casting aside every other landmass other than Estard, Orgod꧃emir is a great force to be reckoned with. He regularly battles against the Almighty himself, he certainly fills the d🐻evil's shoes and then some. Combining that massive brain and sharp, creepy legs is a winning formula for fear.

3 Fell Flat: Hargon ༺

More of an intermedia🌟ry than a villain, the strong sidekick struggles when it comes to inspiring fear. His entire goal is to summon a real villain to help him on his mission. An underling that can't get the job done himself, Hargon always comes off as the second in command.

He does give off a distinctly creepy vibe though, wearing a long priests shawl and fins for ears. The worst thing isn't being the weakest or the goofiest character but the one that drifts under the radar, never to be thought of again. Hargon just isn't that memo🦂rable for the amount he shows up throughout the games.

2 Terrifꩵying: Indignus ๊

Indignus picks up where Hargon drops the ball, being a follower doesn't automatically make you weak. Instead of snivelling around and desperately looking for he﷽lp from his master, he aims to protect and serve. He's also one of the only villains to show any respect to the player for making it to him.

A clear copy of Nokturnus with a dragon helmet, he offers nothing new in the looks department. What he does bring with him is a strong sense of loyalty to an evil 🍌master, this might be his most dangerous characteristic. Equipped with the signature bow, more than a few players have looked at the floor.

1 🉐 🐼 Fell Flat: Bjorn The Behemoose

Let's kick t𒀰hings off with the name, if you were going to be scared by a three-eyed moose before you certainly won't when you hear the name Bjorn. Ironically he's one of the hardest bosses in the🐎 game with the size to back it up, even with all that going for him he still ends up a clunky, oversized, fawn.

His patchy fur and considerable wings only add to the💛 lumbering appearance. His fighting skill is so great that if the player manages to beat him they'll get a master key for every important door. Even so, players will find themselves looking at his vacant expression and wondering if his brain switched on yet.
