Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince - How T🌱o Get Large Size Monsters
Large monste🐎rs are sure useful to have in DQM: The Dark Prince, and there are multiple ways to get them on your team.
These sneaky slimes aren't a big fan of fig🐭hting, being caught, or seen in general, but if you can beat them, you'll be amply rewarded, but it's not easy. Metal Slimes have impressive defenses and the ability to skedaddle in seconds, but it's worth seeking them out. If you want to know how to get the drop on these slimes, look no further.
All Metal Slime Types You Can Find
You'll be able to find three different types of Metal Slime throughout the game: regular Metal Slimes, Liquid Metal Slimes, and Metal King Slimes. These rare enemies start showing up once you reach the early Middle Echelons, such as the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Circle of Caprice, but have an extremely lo🦹w chance of spawning, at around four to five ꦚpercent.
These slimes have some of the highest defense stats in the game, often taking no damage, but also only have a handful of HP, such as most regular Metal Slimes only having around three HP.
You can obtain a free Metal Slime, Liquid Metal Slime, and Metal King Slime by acquiring and turning in certain amounts of Mini Medals at the Maulosseum.
In return for their low spawn rate, Metal Slimes of any type will always spawn in the same spots. They have a set number of locations where they can be found on any Echelon, so if you see oꩵne, you𒈔 can keep returning to that spot to get them to spawn again.
Metal Slimes
Regular Metal Slimes are the first type you'll often encounter, and they'll start spawning once you reach the Middle Echelons. They can also be found in the Upper Echelons as well, but you're more likely to find 💙thei♌r more advanced counterparts instead of them.
Liquid Metal Slimes
Liquid Metal Slimes are the second type of Metal Slime you can run into normally, and they'll start spawning in the Upper Echelons, such as the168澳洲幸运5开奖网: Circle of Fortitude - Upper Echelon. These slimes not only have better stats than regular Metal Slimes but can also do a surprising amount of damage to your party if they decide not to flee.
Metal King Slimes
As their name suggests, Metal King Slimes are the kings of the Metal Slime types and can reach upwards of 1,200 defense at max level, but they aren't nearly as strong as the other two Metal Slime types. Metal King Slimes exclusively spawn in the Upper Echelons, and are needed to fuse♉ some of the most powerful monsters in the Slime family.
Where To Find Metal Slimes
Metal Slimes can be found in almost every Echelon in the game, except for the early game Lower Echelons. They also appear during every weather condition, and their spawn rate and locations remain consistent, except꧟🧜 for Metal King Slimes if you've increased their spawn rate.

How To Beat Metal Slimes
Metal Slimes might seem impossible to beat at first, but it's possible to beat and scout them if you come prepared with specific traits, skills, and some handy items. All Metal Slimes types are also extremely weak to Sleep and Stun, so you can utilize Sleep and Stun 🎃against t🎃hem to keep Metal Slimes from running.
Elemental attacks do no damage to Metal Slimes, so don't bother with breath skills or spells.
As long as they don't run on the first turn, you can use a fast monster like a Damselfly, Rockin' Rockhopper, or Sugar Star Slime to hit them with these status effects. Even without a trait like Crafty Sleeper or Crafty Stunner, th🌺ey'll often get hit with the status effect consistently.
To get past their incredible defense stats, there are some specific skills and traits that can breach them or nullify them entirely:
- Monsters with the Metal Medley trait aren't affected by the Metal Slime's Metal Skin trait and can do normal damage to them.
- Monsters with the Metal Beater trait can do additional damage to metal enemies, and this effect increases with their level.
- Monsters with high attack stats, around 400 or more, such as Goobonce, Gnuriel, King Hydra, and Night Clubber can often do enough damage to kill Metal Slimes without defense reduction.
- Defense reduction skills and items like Sap and Sappium work great against Metal Slimes and can help you do enough damage to beat them.
Alongside skills, there are a handful of battle items that affect metal slimes, particularly the Pinball. The Pinball does a tiny amount of damage, but always hits metal slimes, and often ꦏe🌊nough will put them in range of being defeated.
Certain skills such as Withering Look are based on attack stats and have damage that increases with a monster's level, and they can help with defeating Metal Slimes.
How To Increase Metal King Slime Spawn Rate
If you want to increase the rate of Metal King Slimes for better late-game grinding, you'll have to get quite a few things done. First, you'll need to have beaten the final boss, and also you'll need to get access to the post-game area, The Whispwoods, where you must beat all four post-game bosses available in the area: 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Estar𒅌k Venjah, the Wyrmhole Dragon, Azabel, and finally, the super-boss, Ludo.
How To Beat Ludo
Ludo is an extremely powerful boss and comes with some of the strongest attacks in the game, such as Gigacross and Parallax, and can easily one or two-shot many monsters even if you're properly prepared.
- You'll want to bring a party of monsters that are at least level 80 to fight Ludo, and you'll want them all to have high HP and defenses to help handle his attacks.
- While he uses Wave of Disruption and Wave of Relief, they aren't very frequent, and you'll still want to buff yourself up and debuff him regardless.
- Buff skills such as Kabuff, Insulatle, and Brake Wind are incredibly useful for lowering his damage output.
- Having monsters with Moreheal, Omni-Heal, and to a lesser extent, Right of Rain, are mandatory if you want to survive.
- Accuracy-lowering skills and items like Dazzleflash, Sandstorm, and Bad Medicine stand out as usual as an easy way to lower damage again.
- Ludo is strong against almost every element except for a few, so bring regular physical damage skills, as well as Earth and Explosive elements, for the best damage.
The Bigger Upper trait carried by monsters such as the Saccharine Sacksquatch can help your survival thanks to it randomly adding immunities to damage, breath attacks, and spells each time said monster uses a buff spell.
Once you defeat Ludo at the Whispwoods for the final time, he'll disappear after a brief cutscene, and you'll get a message saying your adventure isn't over yet. Head back into the doorway at the Ancient Tree, and you'll find a large Slime there on the platform now, so run to it to commence a battle against it, an Angel Slime, and a Dark Slime.
Thanks to their levels, they'll be doing quite a bit of damage, especially the Slime with its AOE spells such as Kazapple, but it's nowhere near as difficult as Ludo or the previous fights. Follow your usual tactics, and once you've got both of them defeated, you'll find King Metal Slimes are much more common around the Upper Echelons.
