The Dragon Ball Timeline

Since everything that happens in Z tends to be viewed as absolute canon, the series that followed Z are placed either before or after Goku meets Uub.

Placing Dragon Ball GT And Dragon Ball Super

Dragon Ball GT is the only series that happens after Goku meets Uub, the events unfolding a few years after.

Dragon Ball Super, on the other hand, happens before🌺, with its events stretching more and mꦜore towards the fateful encounter between the Saiyan and the reborn Majin.

Even though you can place both shows in the timeline, the power levels handled by Super make it impossible for GT to happen right after. Gohan, for example, just acquired his Beast form, but in GT he’s back to only using his basic Super Saiyan 🧸form.

Where Does Daima Fit In The Timeline?

Daima happens just a few months after the defeat of Buu, plꦕacing it far before Goku’s meeting with Uub, as well as before the events of Dragon Ball Super.

A new villain, named Gomah, uses the Earth’s Dragon Balls to turn everyone that fought Buu into children, out of fear of them invading his🌞 hellish realm.

Daima seems to wish to expand the Dragon Ball lore without pushing the limits of power levels further. As the story stands, Super Saiyan 3 is the biggest achievement of our heroes, although their small bodies might not let them reach anything close to that power🔯.

Is Daima Canon?

It's hard to say if Daima is considered canon or a variation of the canon. From what's been seen so far, it can’t be canon with Super. This is due to a few revealed details regarding the Potara earrings and Shin.

Shin, the East Supreme Kai, fused with his assistant Kibito by using the Potara earrings and formed Kibito Kai. In Dragon Ball Super, Shin and Kibito return to their older selves thanks to the Namekian Dragon Balls, but in Daima, they have Majin Buu consume them so they can split just like Vegito did before.

We don’t know if this detail is confirmation that Daima and Super can’t happen in the same timeline, or if it was a missed detail by the creators of the anime. Either way, if you consider Super to be the canonical continuation of the Dragon Ball story, then Daima isn’t canon.
