Ursula's Win Conditions

Aligning with her movie goals, Ursula's win condition is that she needs to start her turn with both the Crown and the Trident at her lair. This can be tricky to do, as you'll need to not only find both cards, but play them without being thwarted.

In 𒅌Introduction To Evil, the win condition is simplified to having both the Trident and the Crown at Ursula's Lair.

These two items are singular, meaning there's only one of each in the deck to find. If you're lucky, you'll find them early. Otherwise, you'll be card searching for a while. Both have a cost of four, th🙈ough the trident is the most difficult item to deal with.

While you꧅'re busy toiling away to achieve your goal, it's important to be aware of the cards that can harm you and impede your progress. Below is the Fate deck yoಌu'll be working against:

Strengths And Weaknesses

Disney's Ursula talking to Ariel from The Little Mermaid

The strength in Ursula's deck comes from not having extensive win conditions like Hades or Jafar. Her items can be played in any order, making it easier to reach your win condition.

So long as Ursula's Lair isn't locked🤪, you can play both the Crown and the Trident directly to that location without having to move them.

The weaknesses, however, are numerous. While good luck and card draw will bring you to victory quickly, it can also be your undoing. For example, getting Fated can spell certain doom if you're not prepared.

Heroes like Ariel will move unattached items from unlocked locations to her own location, sabotaging your scheme. Until she is defeated, you won't be able to move any items or Allies. Without any Binding Contracts ready to go, this can take several turns to deal with.

Additionally, the same issue occurs when you play the Trident, as Triton must be found, played, and defeated for you to truly harness its power.

Triton also ups the cᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚost of playing a Binding Contract by one power, mak♔ing it more expensive to deal with him.

Ursula Strategy And Tips

For Ursula, the best thing you can do is prepare. The main tactic is to Discard frequently. Anything you don't need, and likely won't need in the next three turns: get rid of it. You'll want to grab power every other turn so that you can play items as soon as you get them.

Once they're on the board, they're ﷺnot going away.

Ideally, you'll want to play the Crown to Ursula's Lair, and play the Trident to Eric's Ship while having a Binding Contract ready for Ursula's Lair. Playing the Trident summons Triton, so with enough power on your next turn, you can play the contract and move him to Ursula's Lair to Vanquish him.

If Ariel is in play, you'll want to play the Binding Contract for the Shore, move her there, and then use Grow Giant to move the item Ariel took towards Ursula's Lair.

If you're playing with new players or those unfamiliar with Ursula's Villain Deck, you have a better chance at success. If the other players at the table do know Ursula's strategy well, you may find yourself getting Fated far more frequently.༒ This can delay y𒐪ou greatly and sabotage your chances of becoming Villainous.

Tips And Tricks

While you can prepare as best as you can, being adaptable is key. The best tips for p🦩laying as Ursula are ꧅as follows:

  • Play items as soon as you get them.
  • Hold on to a Binding Contract so you can play it when needed.
  • Discard often to get the cards you need, and don't hold onto anything for too long.
  • Lock Ursula's Lair when you have the Crown and/or the Trident there so that they cannot be moved.
