Let's Investigate This Item, Shall We?

Oh look, an item on a Sapphire list. How unexpected. Kidding, of course. Sapphire is known for its catalog of powerful items. And, while Basil's Magnifying Glass isn't the most powerful of them all, it can provide you with the ability to find and add items to your hand, and ultimately, the battlefield.

It's a two-cost card that also takes two ink to trigger its ability, Find What's Hidden. This will allow you to look at the top three cards of your deck and, if you find an item, you can put it into your hand. This can be used if you need a certain item, or items, to set your field up. But it can also be used to help get the Sheriff Of Nottingham into play. More on that further down the list.

9 ♏ Merlin, I𒁃ntellectual Visionary

Powerful, But At What Cost?

Reading over Merlin's card, you may think that he deserves to be placed in one of the highest spots on this list, but this shiftable character suffers because of their shift targets. To break it down, his ability, Overdeveloped Brain, only activates if he's been shifted onto the field.

So, yes, Merlin still deserves a spot because he has options to do this, and the ability to name any card and put that into your hand is so incredibly strong. But Merlin doesn't have wonderful shift options in Sapphire. His best variants are in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:the Amethyst suite of cards.

8 King Candy, Sweet Abomination 𒁃

And He Would Have Gotten Away With Drawing Two!

This villain isn't the strongest cost-five option. However, he can be shifted into battle as early as turn three and has a solid target for this thanks to his Sovereign Of Sugar variant. And, unlike Merlin, his ability can be used regardless of how he came into play.

This card has the potential to become even stronger if used in a deck that does buff or support villains. Unfortunately, without that, he works best when you first put him into play because of his Changing The Code ability, but after that, he loses a chunk of his value. Though it's worth noting, his 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:enchanted card art is incredible.

7 ജ Donald Duck, Focused Flatfo🌊ot

We Have Detective Mickey At Home

This Donald Duck is very similar to Mickey Mouse, Detective. Their abilities are identical, although calledꦦ different things, they both take the top card of your deck and put it into your inkwell, exerted. The differences are all in the numbers.

Mickey is cheaper to play, while Donald Duck can gain more lore. Donald also has more strength and willpower, but he should because of his ink cost of five. This is less a situation of choosing one of these characters for your deck but more of, "Why not♈ both?"

Mickey Mouse, Detective is a card that you can use in the early game while Donald Duck, Focused Flatfoot's cost keeps it relegated to serving more of a mid-game role. This does make Mickey a better option for early game, but Donald is at least inkable.

6 Hide Away

No Item Or Location Is Safe

The first and only action card on the list, Hide Away, can lead to some interesting decisions. Simply put, you can put an item or location that is in play into the player's inkwell instead. Why is that intriguing? It doesn't say this has to be an opponent's card. You can choose your own.

While, of course, you will most likely want to take an item or location of your enemy's off of the board. With so many pesky things that can be happening, being able to simply erase one of the two can take the edge away from your opponent. But if you are looking for more ink to make some moves with, this could give you what you're looking for, especially if you feel an item or location has run the course of its usefulness.

5 ꧒ Scrooge McDuck, Afficionado of Antiquities

He Knows What He's About

This Scrooge McDuck variant is just a solid card all around. He doesn't have a single ability, not even the more generalized ones like 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Bodyguard or Ward. However, he's above the curve for his cost. You'd use four ink to play him, but he comes to the field with five strength and five willpower.

By round four or five, some characters can deal with him in one regard, but not always both. They will either have less strength🐭 and not be able to banish h🔜im, or their willpower will cause them to lose their own challenge. Plus, he can gain two lore, which always sweetens the deal.

4 ♛ Chicha, Dedicated Mother

If Only She Were Inkable

Chicha is a card that may not look like a threat on the surface but can actually help you inch further and further into the lead early on. Her having Support isn't really that big of a deal. It's her ability that sets her apart.

One On The Way allows you to draw a card whenever you've placed a second card into your inkwell on your turn. Sapphire is filled with characters and the like that place cards into your inkwell, giving you a great amount of ink early on. Now you gain the benefit of drawing cards, too. 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:If you're prioritizing ramp, you need some Chicha cards in your deck.

3 Kuzcoꦗ, Selfish Emperor

But He's Actually Not Selfish At All?

For a cost six card, you'd probably expect more strength or willpower, but not with the two unique abilities you are getting. Similar to Hide Away, when you play Kuzco, you can choose an item or location and put it into the player's inkwell, but it doesn't say it has to be an opposing card. Once again, you can choose your own.

Beyond that, By Invite Only has you pay four ink, but that gives all of your other characters Resist +1 until the start of your next turn, which is a very unselfish thing to do if we're getting nitpicky about names. This ability can be a way to clutch certain situations, and if you've been putting a lot of extra cards into your inkwell, you can have more than enough to spare to gain this benefit.

Play As Many Items As You Can

This character costs nine ink to play. That would usually make this an end-game card🗹, and it may not even see the light of the battlefi꧑eld, depending on how a match is going. But, if you plan to play a lot of items, you can see him much sooner.

Every Little Bit Helps allows you to knock one ink off of his cost🐽 for each item you have in play. As was stated earlier, having a multitude of items on the board is easy to do in Sapphire. And his additional Support ability pairs so nicely with the amount of lore he can gain you. You get four lore, and one of your characters can get +5 to their strength? Yeah. This is a valuable card.

1 💧 Mufasa, Ruler Of Pr🉐ide Rock

This Goat Sure Does Look Like A Lion

Mufasa is a magnificent card, especially because of it being in the Sapphire set. He can quest for four lore, and he can withstand a challenge or two, but those aren't even close to his biggest draws. He has two abilities, both revolving around ink.

When you first play him, all of your ink will be exerted, and two of your inked cards will return to your hand. While this will mean you have less ink to work with for your next turn, you will have the opport🧔unity to return some of your strongest cards you had to ink not just to your hand, but later to your board. Then, after Mufasa quests, all the ink you used in your turn will be readied again.

Use all the ink you can on your turn,ဣ and then quest with Mufasa last. This will gꦆive you the most bang for your inkwell.
