Ravensburger has announced the newest official format for 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Disney Lorcana, and, ♚if you’ve attended any of the Lorcana Challenge events, there’s a chance you’ve already played it.
Pack Rush is designed to be a quick way to play Lorcana with just four booster packs. Originally made to pass the time between rounds at events, the format is now getting its own formﷺal rules that could see it become a staple at gam❀e stores too.
Pack Rush is a limited format, meaning you don’t make a deck before playing. Instead, you and your opponent eac🔴h open two Lorcana booster packs, take out the ad or puzzle card, and shuffle the rest of the cards together to make a teeny-tiny deck.
Revealed during the Lorcana Lorcast, a few special rules apply to Pack Rush that you won’t see in constructed formats. There are no limits on the number of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:ink colours you can use, and you start with five cards in your hand instead of seven. Interestingly, the marketing cards are used as your first tꦉwo ink in your inkwell, giving you a much quicker start than in other formats.
There’s also no milling out in Pack Rush. If yo𝓰u run out of cards in your deck, you take your discard pile and shuffle it.
An Easier Way To Get Into Lorcana
A neat aspect of this format is that you don’t need to stick to just one set. While ♋you’re likely to play it when opening a booster packs of a set, there’s nothing saying you can’t mix up different releases and have almost a chaos draft experience with them.
Limited formats like this are a great way to bring new people into Lorcana, too. Simply smashing two booster packs together and playin💜g straight away removes a l▨ot of the friction and decision-making involved in making a deck or picking the right cards in a draft.
The idea of taking packs and smooshing them into a deck isn’t a new one, as Magic: The Gathering has seen success with its 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Jumpstart boosters that work similarly. However, Lorcana’s Pack Rush format uses the regular type of booster, making it even easier to get started. Even a Trove box wo🅠uld give you enough boosters to play a couple rounds of Pack Rush.
Though we already have enough rules to play Pack Rush now, Rav𝔉ensburger has confirmed it will be following up this announcement with comprehensive rules on how the format works, giving it seemingly the same level of rules oversight as the likes of constructed and draft. Who knows, maybe one day we’ll get Pack Rush boosters and tournaments?
