Although The First Chapter keeps its focus solely on Walt Disney Animation Studios, the sky really is the limit for where the game could go in future sets. With so much for Disney to draw from, we decided to ask oth🏅ers at TheGamer who most they’d want to fin꧑d in a booster pack.
James P. “Sulley” Sullivan - Joe Parlock, Tabletop Editor
Sulley is my guy. He’s not just my 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:favourite Disney character, he’s my favourite character in any media ever. He’s a big, lovable lug who can be kind, strong, sarcastic, or scary when the momenꦓt calls for it. A skilled scarer and devoted to protecting his friends, Sulley is just th🌳e best.
I’m already planning my🃏 Big Boys deck, a Steel/Eme𒁃rald one with characters like Beast, Kronk, Simba, and Gantu, and Sulley would be the perfect addition to it. And to every other deck I ever make for Lorcana, because I can’t imagine a world where Sulley is an option in a game and I don’t pick him.
Powerline - Eric Switzer, Features Editor
In many ways, Powerline is a longshot for Lorcana. Disney's analogue for The Artist Formerly Known As Prince has barely 30 seconds of screen time, no dialogue (if you don't count singing two of the best Disney songs ever written) and heck, The Goofy Movie isn't even a proper Walt Disney Animation Studios film!
But Powerline is a legendary figure for my generation. He's '90s youth culture personified, and a symbol of all the triumph, heartache, and experiences that make high school unforgettable. He may have passed the torch to 4*Town, but Powerline will always be Disney's OG superstar.
Plus, the abilities practica🌠lly write themselves. Stand Out: when played, ready a chosen character. I2I: Exert and challenge chosen opp♕osing character!
Merida - Helen Ashcroft, Evergreen Editor
This was a tough choice, since my most desired card was Yzma from The Emperor’s New Groove, and she has already been revealed. She’s even accompanied by Kronk, which m💜akes my heart happy. She may be seen as a villain, but she’s a hero to me, and just trying to save the kingdom from being ruled by an absolute idiot who likes to throw people out of windows.
With my Disney desire satisfied, I moved my attenti🤡on to Pixar, and my choice here has to be Merida. Yes, Brave is a bit wei♑rd, yes, I don’t really know what’s going with the bears either, but she’s a strong independent woman who fights for herself and what she believes in, and every game needs more of that vibe.
Toaster - David W. Duffy, Database Editor
Okay, s♊o this one is a bit of a stretch, but I’m including The Brave Little Toaster on the basis that Disney owned the righ꧟ts to the novella, it started as a CGI pitch to Disney execs by John Lasseter, and Disney distributed it on home video.
Toaster was someone four-year-old me looked up to. They were kind and courageous, smart as heck, and someone who just wanted to be loved. The film struck a chord with me at the time — although I probablꩲy didn’t realise just how much — with its themes of abandonment, given my folks got divorced around that time. Toaster showed me that with a little grit and determination, you could get through anything.
Beaker - Meg Pelliccio, Lead Guides Editor
Beaker isn’t even one of my favourite characters really, but he’s become a bit synonymous with me at TheGamer because I have a tendency to overuse an emoji of his panicked face. With that in mind, I’d love for Beaker to appear — but specifically, a panicked version of him — to continue the joke onwar💮ds.
Imagine playing again𓂃st someone else and slapping that derpy face down on the table, it would be hilarious. Given that many on the team arꦛe picking up Lorcana (and no doubt Joe will make us play together), a Beaker card would round my deck out perfectly.
Marie - Rebecca Phillips, Deputy Lead Evergreen Editor
Marie is not only an adorable kitten, but an icon. Maybe The Aristocats doesn’t hold up as well as other Disney movies, but you sure as hell know Marie’s line, “La✃dies don’t start fights, but they can finish them.ꦦ”
I don’t know all that much about card🌠 games, but winning a game with a Marie card, using that line? It’s too good of an opportunity to miss.
Jules Winnfield - James Troughton, Cross-Department Editor
Samuel L. Jackson has never been a Disney princess to my knowledge, and he hasn’t starred in a classic Disney film unless you count Pixar’s The Incrediblꦿes, but that’s a boring, safe choice. So is Mace Windu, the🧸 now Disney-owned purple lightsaber-wielding Jedi Master.
I want Sam💮uel L. Jackson to make his way into the world of Lorcana via a loophole that A) makes me an obnoxious prick and B) means he can use a gun, whatever that means in a card game. Disney purchased then-indie studio Miramax in 1993, and its first major picture post-acquisition was none other than Pulp Fiction, starring the iconic Samuel L. Jackson as a lead alongside John Travolta. There’s your in. Mayꦉbe chuck a secret Tarantino card in there somewhere.
Raya - Stacey Henley, Editor-in-Chief
Raya is only part one of my plan of requests. What I want most of all is a viable deck made up entirely of Disney Princesses. I will let Not Q🎶uite Princesses like Anna and Elsa in, and various Princess song cards will be tolerated too.
Of all the Princesses though, I think Raya is n💖ot only the least well-known, but also the least likely to be offered multiple variants the way an A-Lister like Belle has. If we can get Raya﷽ through the door, then I believe the Princess Deck can become a reality. Come on, Disney. You know it makes sense.
Miss Piggy - Ryan Bamsey, Deputy Lead Guides Editor
I can’t say I’m all t🧜oo-investไed in which characters get added to Lorcana in the future - I’m just happy that my boy Archimedes made it within the first release.
T🍰hat said, I’m a Miss Piggy stan through and through, and I’ll be damned if I wouldn’t immediately commit to a Muppetborn or Clothborn (or whatever they’d be) deck were she 𒉰added. She’s got it all - taste, class, and a froggy boyfriend.
Tron - Amanda Hurych, Evergreen Content Lead
TRON! Oh my god, if any Disney-owned character/franchise needs t🍒o make its way to Lorcana, it’s Tron. Once we get past the fantasy-esque trappings and move on to the next logical stage, we could totally use more sci-fi Disney offer🌠ings.
And seriously, just think about all the things Tron could add to Lorcana, from heroes to villains to actions! We’re talking Tron, Sark, the Master Control Program, Identity Discs, and freaking Light Cycles. 🍸I’m not really a trading card person, I know, but if they added Tron to Lorca🌠na…
I’m making a so𒈔lemn promise that if 🧜they add Tron, I’ll be buying that set.
