His stats also make him great, as his three strength and four willpower put him out of harm's way of removal like Fire the Cannons or Smash. He also has two lore value, which, with Evasive, he can quest turn after turn if your opponent doesn’t have another Evasive character or direct removal to take care of him.
9 Maleficent, Biding🔜 Her Time
One of🐼 two cards from The First Chapter that is one cost who has two lore value, Maleficent, Biding Her Time is the definition of quick play in Lorcana. The ability to play her turn one, and get a quick two-lore quest off on turn two means you’ll be off to the races.
She can and most likely will get challenged and removed as soon as possible, but that little quest at the start can provid🐬e lots of early-game value. She can also come down late game when you have extra ink to use and is another body on the board for your opponent to deal w🎐ith.

8 Mickey Mouse, Detective 💝
Paired with Sapphire’s One Jump Ahead, Mickey Mouse, Detective is one of the cards included in every ramp deck we have seen so far. Mickey’s ability Get �ꦕ�A Clue lets you take a card from the top of your deck and put it facedown into your inkwell when he is played. Note, that you cannot look at that card.
After that, Mickey doesn&rsquoꦉ;t seem to be a big deal because he only has one lore and one strength, so if your opponent chooses to not pay as much attention to him, he can quest for a few turns in a row and slowly help build up that lore needed to win.
7 🙈 Malefic💦ent, Uninvited
The sole reason this card is found in a lot of decks is the three lore Mal⛄eficent, Uninvited brings to the table. The ability to play her turn five, or possibly even earlier with the ramp cards found in Sapphire, can put big-time pressure on your opponent very early in the game.
That's not to mention that she has six willpower which makes it rather difficult to remove her with challenges. If your opponent does choose to challenge her, it’s going to take a few characters, and could very well be a trade due to Maleficent having a respectable three strength as well.
6 ౠ Mickey Mouse, Wa🦄yward Sorcerer
Mickey Mouse, Wayward Sorcerer has the ability to do a lot for you once he is brought down onto the board. H😼is first ability, Animate Broom, lets you play one less to play Broom characters, and with Magic Broom, Bucket Brigade being a v🌊iable card option in Amethyst, this ability is superb.
His second ability also deals with the Brooms, as Ceaseless Worker says whenever one of your Broom characters is banished in a challenge, you may return it to your hand. Being able to continually bring back the Bಞroom cards helps, as you’ll always have a character to play or ink to put in your inkwell if needed.

5 ⛦ Beast, Wolfsbane
In a game state where being able to take out opposing characters swiftly and easily is so important, Beast, Wolfsbane can do good work. His ability Roar says that whenever he is played, exert all of your opponent's damaged characters.
The reason that works so well is due to the fact he has the Rush keyword on his card. So if there are any damaged characters, you can play him down, exert them, and challenge them in one 🍬fell swoop. It gets even better as he quests for two, so he can become a nice lore battery if needed.
4 Rafik🐈i🥀, Mysterious Sage
Coming off of Beast, Wolfsbane who showed the Rush keyword i✱s great, Rafiki, Mysterious Sage is ܫright up there with the best of them. His three strength and willpower give him the ability to hit a lot of early-game targets and slow your opponent down a bit.
The thing with Rafiki is all about tim🎐ing when he is played. There are many three and four-cost cards in Lorcana that have three willpower, so being able to play Rafiki down when they are exerted and vulnerable is when you want to look to pꦡlay him.

3 Hades, Infernal Schemer 💛 🐭
Hades, Infernal Schemer&rsquo🌳;s ability is titled Is There A Downside To This?, and that is a very legitimate question that needs to be asked when he is played. His ability says whenever he is played, choose an opposing character and put it into their player’s inkwell.
The thin🍨g to always consider when playing this Hades is, even with giving your opponent resources, this is straight removal. Yes, your opponent does get another card in ♕their inkwell to use, but at the point in the game where there are many high-cost cards being played, being able to take a threat off the board and add a character of your own is a great trade to make.
2 Stitch, Carefree Surfer 🐟
One of the hot-button issues surrounding The First Chapter is the amount of draw we have access to. Amethyst is the color that has dominantly been the draw color, but Stitch🔜, Carefree Surfer’s ability Ohana helps Amber 🧜continuously draw through their deck.
Ohana lets you draw two cards only if you have two other characters in play when Stitch is played. He even has Evasive, so, unless hard removal cards are played, it is going to be a hassle for your opponent to get Mickey off the board before it's too late, and his questing has got you in reach of that 20 lore needed to win the game.
