Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed - All Jim's Riddle Solutions

Once you solve t♏he Ventureland crisis, you'll be given three unique riddles by Jim, and here's how ♈you can solve them all.

A core aspect of the game is the morality system; how much paint or thinner you throw around will ultimately determine the ending, not to mention how much favor you curry with Oswa🌺ld. Nowhere is this better exemplified than in the bevy of bo🌞ss fights, where various twisted denizens of Wasteland are in battle with Michael Rodent. Which of these cartoon throwdowns are the best? Let's rank them all.

This article will feature heavy spoilers for every single boss in Epic Mickey: Rebrushed. Even if you're a 🦹dyed-in-tꦏhe-wool fan of the original game, there are new wrinkles to be found in the remake that you could be spoiled on, so watch yourself!

7 The Mad Doctor's Mechanical Claw

Even Goofy Could Beat This One

The Mad Doctor's mechanical claw stares down Mickey in Epic Mickey Rebrushed.

When Mickey firs𒊎t arrives in Wasteland at the beginning of the game, he's promptly strapped down to a table by the Mad Doctor, who has designs on the poor mouse's Heart – which will enable the devious scientist to escape Wasteland if it's extracted. To that end, he's built a terrifying Swiss army knife, which comes armed with chainsaws, corkscrews, and an unsettling giant eye.

It's a tutorial boss fight, then, which makes it an easy shoo-in for the bottom spot. Once freed, Mickey needs only to toddle on over to a series of electric generators and spin attack them a few times to short out the claw. It attempts to retaliate ✨(somewhat feebly) every so often and might even knock you down into the thinner pool if you're unlucky. But otherwise, this is a cut-and-dry encounter that's over in minutes. Top☂ marks for creep factor, though.

6 The Mad🎀 Doctor

At Least He Doesn't Sing Until The Sequel

Gus smack-talks the Mad Doctor in Epic Mickey Rebrushed.

Hot on the metallic heels of his cl🐬aw comes the Mad Doctor himself. Throughout Mickey's quest, he's menaced by the doc's Beetleworx army, and his and Oswald's day is made only worse by the parts to the Moonliner Rocket (necessary to flee Wasteland) being pilfered by the mustachioed marauder. All this makes for a sublime build-up to your ultimate confrontation with the Mad Doctor in Lonesome Manor – but sadly, the actual fight is a bit of a letdown.

Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed - Find Goofy's Parts Quest Walkthrough

Finding Goofy's part is an important mission that you'll have while exploring Tomorrow City, and here are all the places you nܫeed to visit.

You d𒁃on't actually engage the doctor directly, but rather, you dismantle each of his Beetleworx generators, which sends a blast of electricity hurtling into his ship. Do that three times, and he's down for the count – or, if you fancy the more cerebral Paint path, you can navigate the attic's rafters and trigger a path for the Doom Buggy, which will KO the Mad Doctor in a single blow. It's all a bit fiddly, and we're left thinking a hands-on fracas would have been more satisfying.

5 🤡 Captain Hook 🍰

Where's That Crocodile When You Need Him?

The roboticized Captain Hook talks to Mickey in Epic Mickey Rebrushed.

Epic Mickey starts getting a bit tenuous with its premise of 'forgo♒tten Disney characters' once you hit the Ventureland world, as half the cast of Peter Pan shows up – and by most metrics, that film is far from forgotten. Mr. Smee gives you the down-low on what's happened to Captain Hook; a devilish machine on Skull Island has transformed him into a killer robot, so it's up to Mickey and Gus to sail the seas and put a stop to him.

There are actually three ways to go about the Hook fight, which are the most options for a boss in the whole game. The first is the trickiest, but it yields the biggest rewards: by platforming your way 🍸up the rigging, you can free Pete Pan's sprite sidekick (note the lack of 'r' in that name), and he'll handle Hook for you. Alternatively, you can use Hook's newfound mechanical nature to your advantage by forcing him to follow a guiderail right off the side of the boat... or the third option, smack him into a wall three times. Whichever path you pick, it's a pirate's life for Mickey.

4 ✱ Petetronic ꩵ

A Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow... Well, Big At Least

Mickey faces off against Petetronic atop Space Mountain in Epic Mickey Rebrushed.

One of many, many, many incarnations of Mickey's longtime rival Pete you'll encounter in Wasteland, this Tron-themed ne'er-do-well is terrorizing Tomorro🅘w City from atop𝓡 Space Mountain. Coincidentally, he's also guarding the first rocket part you require, so... it's not looking too good for his chances at survival.

Plutopia is the most colorful side-scrolling level in Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed, thou🎉gh this also makes it one of the hardest to 𓄧finish.

1

Petetronic stands in the center of the arena, hurling both thinner and ID discs at you. It's the discs that are the key to this battle; if you spin attack with good timing, they'll be bounced back at him, a la Ganondorf. Things soon devolve into digital badminton, 🎐but if you can find an opening, the tanks on his back will be exposed for painting or thinning. Destroy or redeem? You can only choose one, Users.

3 ༒ The Sh🔴adow Blot

Not To Be Confused With The Comics Version

The Shadow Blot menaces Mickey with a gaseous blur effect in Epic Mickey Rebrushed.

Alongside the Mad Doctor (who went over to its side when it first arrived in Wasteland), the Shadow Blot is the main foe you'll be contending with in the game's first two acts. All the Blotling m💃ooks throughout the land are borne of this inky monstrosity, and he's also the reason behind Mickey's odd goopiness, having infected him in the opening.

You finally engage the Blot atop Mickeyjunk Mountain, while Oswald ℱsinglehandedly fights off the Blotling army. It's a tense, high-stakes duel that sees you dodging his attacks - including lasers, claw swipes, and thinner breath - pretty much the entire time, with only a brief window for retaliation. That window is when he inhales, so be ready to pump him full of the artistic fluid of your choice. Of course, the Shadow Blot's defeat is far from the end of things...

2 ꦬ 🐎 The Clock Tower

It's An Unhinged World, After All

The Clock Tower turns evil in Epic Mickey Rebrushed.

Easily the most iconic boss in Epic Mickey and a striking bit of imagery that stuck w🍸ith players long after the original's 2010 debut, the Clock Tower remains among the adventure's highlights in Rebrushed. After conquering every continent in Wasteland's version of It's A Small World, you at last come upon this ceaselessly smiling 🌞timepiece... only for his grin to melt off, giving way to a look of pure derangement.

Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed is quite an easy game to understand, but yo𒉰u can ✃improve your experience after learning some of these tricks.

Nightmare fuel aside, it's an inspired battle. The clock's giant arms dwarf Mickey, keeping you constantly on the move to avoid becoming mouse pate. An off-key rendition of the Small World song lends extra creepiness, while a newly added buzzsaw attack requires deft dodging. In the end, it comes down once again to destructio💧n or 🍸redemption – but anyone who's ever got stuck on the ride at Disney World will likely be wanting some revenge.

1 The Phantom Blot 𒅌 🐓

Atoning For Mickey's Epic Mistake

The ginormous Phantom Blot menaces Mickey and Oswald in Epic Mickey Rebrushed.

To rank the game's final boss is essentially to rank the entire last third of the story; it's a drawn-out denouement, and fittingly so. Once you dispatch the Shadow Blot, Mickey assumes the worst is over – little does he know he hasn't even seen the real Blot, and the ones he's been fighting are just drippings. Unfortunately, he al🎐so selects this moment to tellไ Oswald he caused the Thinner Disaster, resulting in a scuffle that allows the true Phantom Blot to burst free.

The Blot and all his flunkies were created by Mickey himself when he broke into Yen Sid's ༺workshop decades prior and fiddled with the Magic Brush. Seeing the typically s꧒queaky-clean corporate mascot wrestle with feelings of guilt and atonement is kind of surreal and part of what makes Epic Mickey such an engrossing trip.

Cold, calculating, and the size of a continent, the Blot wastes no time deploying 'Bloticle' veins across Wasteland to suck it dry. You'll hop between all the lands you've visited before, severing these gross tentacles, before launching a final assault on the Blot itself via the Moonliner Rocket. It all culminates✃ inside the beast, where fallen toon zombies lurk to put an end to your litt෴le insurrection. Masterful both narratively and in terms of gameplay, this climactic brawl tops our list with ease.
