Diablo 4 Core Stats Explained

The stats page in Diablo 4

There are four core stats that you can upgrade in Diablo 4 when you level up. Each one offers a different kind ꦗof benefit, from resistance and healing buffs to dodge chance.

Strength

Strength offers one Armor per point invested into the stat. Now, where it gets interesting is that specific classes get unique buffs from stats. To start, Strength gives the Barbarian class 0.1 percent increased skill damage per point invested. Plus, for the Rogue class, they get 0.1 percent resource generation per point invested.

As is expected for each of these stats, specific classes gain more from one stat than others. Strength caters best to Barbarians, as focusing on it only improves the power of your skills alongside the added armor. Rogues get resource generation, but Strength acts as more of a secondary stat to the class unl🤪es🐼s you focus on builds that spam abilities.

Intelligence

The second stat is Intelligence, brain over brawn. The first buff is for all classes, offering 0.05 percent resistance to all damage per point invested. The next buff is for the Rogue class, increasing critical strike chance by 0.02 percent per point invested. Lastly, for both the Sorceress and Necromancer classes, Intelligence offers 0.1 percent skill damage per point invested.

Intelligence is best for ranged classes due to the resistance getting more value than armor. Sorcerer and Necromancer ꦍalso get more skill damage, so it offers both a defensive and offensive benefit. As for Rogues, Intelligence is great if y𝓀ou want to focus on builds that critical hit often.

Willpower

Willpower is the third core stat, focusing on a player's constitution more than their strength. To begin, Willpower offers 0.1 percent healing received and 0.25 percent overpower damage per point invested. For Barbarians, Sorcerers, and Necromancers, it also increases by 0.1 percent resource generation per point invested. Lastly, for Druids, Willpower offers 0.1 percent skill damage per point invested.

Due to its base buff, the Willpower stat is best used for Necromancers and Druids, or builds that offer a lot of Life on Kill benefits. Barbarians also get that boost in resource generation alongside the healing buffs, and Druids do get a useful amount of scaling skill damage iꦗf they invest in Willpower.

Dexterity

The final core stat is Dexterity, which defines how nimble your character is. Firstly, it increases your dodge chance by 0.025 percent per point invested. Then, for Barbarian, Sorceress and Necromancer, it increases critical strike chance by 0.02 percent per point invested. Last but not least, Rogues get 0.1 percent skill damage per point invested.

Dexterity is useful no matter what class you pick thanks to the dodge chance. It is best for Rogues because it adds skill damage alongside that dodge chance benefit, but it can also add critical hit chance to Barbarians and allow them t🤪o do absurd ꦏamounts of damage with their attacks.

While the critical hit chance is al🤪so good for Sorceresses and Necromancers too, it doesn't get as much value due to how much damage one potential attack from Rogues and Barbarians do.
