Infernal Hordes is a wave-based survival mode in Diablo 4 that pushes most builds to their limit. What Is An Infernal Compass?

An Infernal Compass is a consumable item that's used to start the Infernal Hordes activity. You can earn Infernal Compasses upon completing "The Eyes of the Enemy" quest, found in Zarbinzet upon reaching World Tier 3 or higher. This item behaves identically to a Nightmare Dungeon Sigil. Once consumed, the Infernal Compass will grant access to the gates of Hell, which will be marked o🐭n your map. Select the gateway to enter the depths of Hell and start the activity.

Higher tiers have increased enemy density, higher-level monsters, and greater reward opportunities. The activity remains the same between all eight tiers. If you find some co꧟mpasses t🎀hat prove too difficult for you, they can be dismantled for Sigil Powder at any Occultist vendor. Use the spare powder to forge Nightmare Dungeon Sigils or more Infernal Compasses.

How To Get An Infernal Compass

After you complete "The Eyes of the Enemy," you'll start to find Infernal Compasses in just about every endgame activity. Most of your Infernal Compasses will be crafted at the Occultist, similar to Nightmare Du🎐ngeon Sigils. They can be created for a moderate Sigil Powder fee.

You don't need to visit an Occultist every time you want to crank up the difficulty of an Infernal Horde. Abyssal Scrolls can be used to upgrade a compass by one tier, up to the hard cap of T8. You can fin൩d Abyssal Scrolls from reward chests at 💟the end of the Infernal Hordes activity. This allows you to create stronger compasses without needing to visit a town.
