In Diablo 4, Legendary equipment eventually becomes relatively easy to come by. At higher levels, you'll probably be dropping at least one Legendary per Nightmare Dungeon, if not more. However, Unique equipment sits at a tier above Legendaries, with powerful effects that can't be transferred to other equipment like Legendary Aspects can.

Below, we'll take an in-depth look at the Doombringer's effect, and the best ways to get it.

Updated October 29, 2023: The Season of Blood has added a new way to obtain Uber Uniques like the Doombringer in the Echo of Duriel boss fight. We've updated this guide with everything you need to know.

The has the following effect:

Lucky Hit: Up to a [15-25]% Chance to deal 1,092 Shadow damage to surrounding enemies and reduce♍ their damage done by 20% for 5 seconds.

Basically, Doombringer gives you a decent chance to deal area Shadow damage and reduce the damage dealt by nearby enemies. One-Handed Swords can used by a🧔ny class, but certain classes w🎃ill definitely get more use out of this weapon than others.

This effect is especially useful for Rogues and Necromancers that can take advantage of the extra Shadow damage in Shadow-based builds l﷽ike Shadow Imbuement for Rogues or Deco♑mpose, Reap, Sever, or any of many other Necromancer abilities.

How To Get Doombringer

Doombringer is one of seven extremely rare Unique pieces of equipment in Diablo 4. These Uber Unique items are even rarer than normal Uniques, and have a very low drop rate.

Still, if you aren't deterred by the massive RNG you must overcome, here's how to get Doombringer.

First, you'll need to be at least level 85. These Uber Uniques don't drop below level 85, so that is your first requirement. Beyond that, Doombringer has no specific drop requirements. It can drop anywhere normal Uniques can, which means pretty much any content in the game has a chance to drop one.

Fig꧒hting bosses during the Blood Harves🍎t at high levels is also a good method for farming Uniques.

Outside of the Duriel boss fight, which we'll look at below, your best bet for getting Doombringer is to farm high-tier Nightmare Dungeons. Level 85 enemies appear in Tiers 31 and above, so be sure to use Nightmare Sigils of at least this Tier. Helltide events and World Bosses are also good choices, but are a bit more limited than 🀅Nightmare Dungeons due to their time-based 🐓nature.

Echo Of Duriel

Duriel the Maggot King uber boss

Added in Season 2, there is now a much better way to target-farm the Doombringer by killing the Duriel Uber boss. You'll still need to do quite a bit of grinding and hope that luck is on your side, but your chances to get the Doombringer are much higher using this method.

To summon Duriel, you'll need two materials. Mucus-Slick Eggs drop from the Echo of Varshan in World Tier 4, and Shards of Agony drop from Grigoire. After you get two of each of these, head to the Gaping Crevasse Dungeon to the southeast of Gea Kul.

Here, you can submit your materials to the Pestilent Altar to summon Duriel. This boss is level 100, so you'll want to be around level 90 or above. You can be a ဣbit lower level if your gear is exception🦩ally strong.

Duri♉el has a high chance of dropping Uniques upon defeat. Still, expect to kill him quite a few times be🐟fore you get the Doombringer.
