In Diablo 4, you'll rely on materials, gold, gems, and gear to progress your character. Managing your inventory and items is a large part of the gameplay loop of Diablo, so expect to be doing it a lot throughout your journey in Sanctuary.
However, sometimes actually finding the items on the ground you're looking for can be difficult due to the default display settings. Luckily, by adjusting your settings, you can make finding your items a bit easier. Below, we'll take a look at how to highlight items on the ground, and how to change your highlight settings.
How To Highlight Items
The default key binding for showing item labels is Alt on keyboard, and L2 on controller. In its default state, pressing this button will show the names of everything on the ground, like items and equipment, for 10 seconds. However, by toggling the Item Label Display setting, to Push to Toggle (On/Off), items will always have their names shown while on the ground.
You can find this setting by navigating to:
- Options
- Gameplay
- Item Label Display
- Change the setting to Push to Toggle (On/Off)
Unfortunately, you can't highlight every single interactable object, like tree stumps, rocks, or quest objects like letters or statues. The only way to highlight these non-item interactables is to hover over them with your cursor.
How To Change Highlight Settings
You can also change some highlight settings for non-interactable things like other players or NPCs. You can find this setting by navigating to:
- Options
- Gameplay
- Highlights
Here, you can toggle the option to display a highlight on other players, as well as change the color of highlights on players, NPCs, enemies, and ob🅰ject💟s. You can select any color from a color picker, making this setting especially useful for colorblind players.
