From stuns, slows, dazes, and knockdowns, to fears, tethers, chills, freezes, and plenty more, it isn't an understatement to say that Diablo 4 has a dizzying array of crowd control mechanics. If you've ever been hit by enemy crowd control, you're likely familiar with their lethality and usefulness.
The silver lining, though, is that each class in the game gives you access to unique and powerful crowd control skills that can keep you in the fight. If you're feeling stun locked trying to figure out which skills offer the best base effects, synergies, and damage potential for each class, check out these ten best crowd control skills.
8 ꦅ Druid: Poison Creeper 𝐆
Poison Creeper is a Companion skill for Druid that passively poisons enemies around you. When activated, it immobilizes enemies for two seconds and damages them in a very large area. Upgraded with Enhanced Poison Creeper, the immobil𒉰ize effect is bumped up to three seconds𝐆.
If you invest even more, grabbing the Brutal Poison Creeper upgrade will increase your critical strike chance by 20 percent against enemies you've immobilized. The only downside of this skill is the cooldown time, but that's an acceptable trade for enemies that can't move and higher DPS.
7 ♊ Druid: Hurricane♔
Hurricane is a Wrath skill for Druid that deals damage in an area around you for eight seconds once activated. With the Enhanced Hurricane upgrade, enemies damaged by Hurricane are slowed by 25 percent for two seconds.
Coupled with various upgrades, like Natural Hurricane for a chance to make enemies vulnerable, Endless Tempest to increase Hurricane's duration, and Perfect Storm for Spirit generation and 15 percent more damage to vulnerable, immobilized, and slowed enemiඣes, you can keep the C🦄C going while building some serious synergy.
6 ൩ ♑ Necromancer: Corpse Tendrils
Corpse Tendrils is a Corpse skill for Necromancer that causes red tendrils to burst from a corpse, pulling in and stunning enemies for three seconds. While this skill deals a bit of damage on its own, Enhanced Corpse Tendrils will slow enemies in range by🃏 50 percent before pulling them.
You can grab Plagued Corpse Tendrils to make all enemies damaged by this skill vulnerable for three seconds, and Corpse Explosion with the Plagued Corpse Explosion upgrade to deal "x8" percent increased, stackable damage to enemies that are slowed, stunned, or vulnerable.
5 Barbarian: Ground Stomp ♓
Ground Stomp is a Defensive skill for Barbarian that smashes the ground around you, dealing a bit of damage and stunning enemies for three seconds. Picking up Enhanced Ground Stomp will increase the stun duration to an൲ impressive four seconds.
Grabbing No Mercy can give you up to nine percent increased crit chance against stunned enemies, and with all that downtime, you can reposition yourself around enemies to get a well-placed Kick in, knocking them in💞to terrain to stun them for an additional three seconds💛.
4 Barbarian: Iron Maelstrom 𝔉
Iron Maelstrom is a three stage ultimate skill for Barbarian that, on the first key press, slams a two-handed bludgeoning weapon into the ground, stunning enemies for two seconds. On it's own, a two second stun time isn't that impressive, but there are upgrades to help with that.
Getting all three points in Concussion gives you up to a 45 percent chance to stun enemies for three additional seconds. Just as useful as it is with Ground Stomp, No Mercy will give you extra crit chance. If you use Bash as your basic skill, getting four hits in will cause yet another stun.
3 Rogue: Dash 🎃
Dash is an Agility skill for Rogue that, at max level with no extra modifers, has a 9.8 second cooldown, dealing about half of the damage you'd normally do. With Disciplined Dash, you'll slow enemies by 30 percent on hit, or daze enemies already slowed for two seconds instead.
When paired with Puncture, a basic skill that applies slow on every third cast, as well as on every critical strike you land, and Improved Twisting Blades, an upgraded core skill that dazes enemies while they're impaled, your Dashes will activate daze so frequently It'll feel like a Led Zeppelin concert.
2 Sor꧋cerer: Arc Lash
Arc Lash is a Basic skill for Sorcerer that, on every ten swipes, stuns all enemies hit for two seconds. With Enhanced Arc Lash, you'll get an additional swipe for every crit, and with Glinting Arc Lash you'll reduce all cooldowns by 0.15 seconds every time you hit a stunned enemy.
Since basic skills are completely free to use at any time, it's hard to pass up the value and utility of Arc Lash. Also, with Sorcerer's Enchantment mechanic, you can eventually buff this basic skill so that when a cooldown occurs, enemies around you are stunned for half a second.
1 𝔍 Soꦗrcerer: Frost Nova
Frost Nova is a Defensive skill for Sorcerer that freezes enemies around you for three seconds. While the base cooldown at max level is 19.7 seconds, Enhanced Frost Nova will reduce its cooldown by up to four seconds per cast when you kill frozen enemies with it.
Great options for synergy include grabbing all three ranks of Hoarfrost , giving you an 18 percent damage increase to frozen enemies, and Shatter, causing enemies that have thawed out to explode for 25 percent of the damage they took while they were frozen.
