Riven's Lair is the core activity this season and is where you'll earn most of this season's new gear. It's a straightforward activity with minimal mechanics, but its unique jumping sections and one particular combat encounter can be confusing to New Lights and returning players alike. This guide will cover how the Riven's Lair activity works, explain each encounter, and cover how this season's Lair Keys and focusing systems work.

Riven's Lair Activity Guide

Riven's Lair shares similarities with Salvage and Savathun's Spire, featuring highly randomized runs with a few secrets to uncover in its companion activity, the Coil. Each run of Riven's Lair consists of two jumping puzzles, two combat encounters, and a boss fight. The first and third encounters are always ju🍒mping puzzles, the꧟ second and fourth encounters are always combat sections, and the fifth encounter is always a boss fight.

You will begin each run at Spirit's Anchor, the hub area where Riven's spirit is being held. Run up the nearby stairs and step on any of the three plates to start the mission. One of three portals will randomly activate, leading to the first jumping section. Your goal is to activate three plates in each jumping section.

Platforming Encounters

The portal that opens will dictate which platforming section you'll enter:

• Left Portal: Spike Chamber
• Middle Portal: Pervading Darkness
• Right Portal: Poison Pools

The Spike Chamber is a small series of rooms that are filled with lethal traps. On nearly every surface are shifting platforms and spike traps that will instantly kill you. For the spike traps in particular, get close to them and immediately retreat. Once they recede back into the ground, you can safely cross for a couple of seconds. Staying in t𝕴he air is also an option.

Navigating The Spike Chamber

You can avoid most of the traps in this platforming section by following the path to your left wh𝔉en possible. If you see any spike traps on the wall, jump over them to avoid getting impaled.

Pervading Darkness is the core mechanic of the second platforming section, requiring you to activate all three plates without reaching x10 Pervading Darkness. This debuff slowly builds up over time and covers your screen in darkness. You must stand in glowing pools of light to cleanse yourself, removing all debuff stacks.

The Poison Pools are filled with green runes that detonate when you approach, filling the area with a massive poison AoE. Standing in it will kill you in seconds, so it's best to move as fast as possible. Clear out the enemies from a safe distance, then activate the plates as quickly as you can.

Combat Encounters

After you complete a platforming secti🔴on, you will be teleported into a combat arena with a core objective. The objective will be one of the following:

• Clear the Lair's intruders.
• Light the Torches.
• Lure out Mephitic Hosts.

Lair Intuders is a simple kill objective with no special mechanics. Defeat all the enemies that spawn and proceed to the ne🐠xt zone.

Lighting torches is done similarly to the Menagerie from Season of Opulence. One of the torches will be guarded by a group of Taken shortly after the encounter begins. Defeat the Taken Wizard to spawn an orb. Grab this orb and escort it to the nearby torch to light it. Repeat this process for all three torches. Once all torches are lit, a final wave of adds will spawn. Clear them out to finish the encounter.

The Mephitic Host encounter works identically to the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Dul Incaru fight in the Shattered Th🤡rone dungeon. Your fireteam must kill as many adds as possible to spawn the Mephitic Hosts. Each host will drop a powerup when slain that grants the Ephemeral Virus buff for 30 seconds, allowing you to damage invulnerable targets. You'll die once the buff expires, but you can cleanse it prematurely by standing atop a glowing pillar near the center of the arena.

Defeat The Final Boss

Every Riven's Lair run ends with a boss fight, requiring your fireteam to remove its immunity shield before initiating a DPS phase. The game will pick one of these bosses based on which faction you've been fighting throughout your run:

• Vex Hydra or Wyvern
  • Both enemies have the same mechanic.

• Taken Knight or Ogre
  • Both enemies have the same mechanic.

• Scorn Chieftain

The Vex boss is immune to damage when you first start the encounter. This unit will constantly spawn Vex reinforcements throughout the encounter, some of which will be Minotaurs. Defeating the Vex Minotaurs will drop Craniums you can use to damage the boss' immunity shield. Break the s꧅hield, then deal as much damage to the Hydra 🧔as possible.

Defeating the Taken boss follows a similar process to the Vex boss. At the start of the encounter, three Wizards will spawn and make the boss immune to all damage Defeat the three Wardweavers to start the DPS phase. These Wizards are absurdly tanky, so don't be afraid to use your Super or Heavy ammo to kill them. Kill the boss to finish the encounter.

The Scorn boss fight uses the same mechanic as the Mephitic Host fight. Certain majors will drop the Ephemeral Virus buff when slain that allows you to damage the boss' immunity shield. Once you break the shield, you can deal permanent damage to the boss until it dies. Be wary that the Ephemeral Virus buff will kill you once it expires, so be sure to cleanse it at the central pillar bef🐼ore 💝you focus on killing the boss.

Reward Chest And Lair Keys

Slaying the final boss will spawn the reward chest for your Riven's Lair run, awarding Wish Engrams and seasonal gear. If you have a Lair Key in your inventory, it will automatically be consumed to buff the reward chest, usually dropping an extra weapon or armor piece. Y✱ou will also earn ওRiven Reputation with each clear, allowing you to claim bonus rewards from Riven within the H.E.L.M.

Lair Keys are one-time-use consumables that grant additional rewards at the end of Riven's Lair and Coil runs. You can earn Lair Keys by completing non-seasonal content. Some keys are also granted from Riven's reward track, the Season Pass, and the "Wishing All The Best" quest. You may hold up to five Lair Keys at a time. Keys are shared across all of your characters.

Wish Engram Focusing

Wish Engrams you earn from this activity may be focused into specific seasonal rewards, including Season of the Wish weapons, Season of Undying weapons, and high-stat armor. Focusing options for this season are limited initially. You can unlock more powerful focusing options through Seasonal Challenges.
