Last week, a Weekly Jump leak suggested that Demon Slayer: The Hinok൲ami Chronicles 2 was finally going to be announced after years of rumours following the first game's release in 2021. That leak was true, as Sega has officially revealed the game and given more🅷 details on it, including🧸 the fact that it'll launch at some point in 2025.
Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles 2 Is Real, Launches In 2025
Like the first game, Demon Slayer: 𝄹The Hinokami Chronicles 2 will be developed by Cyberconnect2 and will release at some point in 2025 on pretty much every system, including the PS5, PS4, Xbox Series, Xbox One, Steam, and even Nintendo Switch. We don't yet know the exact timing, but it was suggested in Weekly Jump that it'll be playable at Jump Festa later this month.
As you'd expect, Hinokami Chronicles 2's story mode takes place right where the last game stopped, with players going from the Ente༒rtainment District and Swordsmith Village arcs to the Hashira Training arc. With the anime not being too far ahead of the Hashira Training arc, it makes sense that the game won't go further than that.
There's still a fair bit of Demon Slayer👍 to go after the Hashira Training arc, so don't be too surprised if we eve❀ntually end up seeing The Hinokami Chronicles 3.
Alongside the expanded story mode, Sega confirmed that the game's roster will contain over 40 playable characters, a big step up from the 18 characters that were included for the first game's launch and who will all be brought over to the sequel. Muichiro Tokito and Mitsuri Kanroji are two of the new characters confirmed to playablജe in the sequel, but it's confirmed that all nine Hashira will be on the roster this time around.
