How To Start The Lost Cargo Recovery Aid Request

After you meet with La Madre and connect her to the Chiral Network, she offers you up a new type of mission - Aid Requests. These work a little differently from your typical orders, so you might be a little lost on how they work. Before we get that ꧑far though, we have to reach Villa Libre first.

Reaching Villa Libre

When the game begins, Sam must make a journey to the La Ciudad Distribution Center and get them connected to the Chiral Network. Once this is all set up and Sam has gotten to his private room, you are given a new request. There is a small settlement nearby, Villa Libre. It is a single pregnant woman and a few elderly people. Being so remote and without the Chiral Network, they are lacking in medical supplies and services.

Pick up the next main order to deliver the Remote Medical Units to Villa Libre and plan your journey. There are a few different routes you can take along here, though there are two in particular that will stand out to you. You can either take the more ♉north path, which will lead through a camp of Bandits, or a more roundabout way that is simply obstacle-free.

However, the game will introduce a new mechanic if you take the safer path - flooding. Rivers can not just break their banks and get wider, they can also fill up empty valley, making it much harder to navigate. As such, it mig🔥ht be a bit easier to go through the Band🔯it camp if you feel confident in your stealth or combat abilities.

If you do go through the Bandit camp, make sure not to let the cargo get too damaged if you want to get that S-rank.

Either way, the rivers will flood, so you'll likely need to use a ladder to cross the river. Make sure to bring two so you can connect them in case the river is too wide to cross with just one. Once you cross this river, however, it is basi𒉰cally smooth sailing. Don't run too much if you have a lot of cargo as the ground will be slippery due to the flooding, making Sam much more likely to fall over.

Unlocking The Lost Cargo Recovery Request

After finally completing your trek, you can hand in the Remote Medical Devices to La Madre, your point-of-contact for Villa Libre, and connect her to the Chiral Network. She will give you another main order now that will bring you through a Bandit Camp in the forest, that❀ eventually ends with connecting the next Distribution Center to the Chiral Network.

However, she also introduces Aid Requests now, offering you the very first one now. Multiple pieces of cargo containing walking sticks for the elderly here were washed away in a flood and taken much too close to a Bandit Camp for anyone to retrieve them. Rather than having to take on a formal order, the cargo is now simply out in the world for you to collect when🔯ever you come across it.

How To Reach The Walking Sticks

Seeing as this is the very first Aid Request you are offered, it is fairly simple. The walking sticks exists as four separate pieces of small cargo, so make sure to leave space for them before you head out. This will take you 🙈in the opposite direction of the next main order, so choose which you want t🎃o do first.

The walking sticks can be found not too far from the path that you may have taken to reach Villa Libre in the first place. They are, however, on the banks of a possible river, and not too far from a Bandit camp, too. Provided you go when there is no flooding active, you can easily descend into the empty river and pick up the pieces of cargo. As such, try to retrieve them when it's all a bit calmer. Go at night as well if you want to avoid the ire of the nearby Bandits, though they're fairly ea💦sy to avoid during the day, ওtoo.

Once you pick them up, it's a simple trek back to Villa Libre. Like before, there should be no major issues along the way back. Just hand them in to La Madre to complete the Lost Cargo Recovery Aid Request.

How To Unlock The Electric Rod

Like the original Death Stranding, the sequel offers you rewards for advancing your connection level with the various Preppers and Distribution centers around the world. And even just in the early stages of Mexico, there are some great pieces of gear you can unlock, both returning and brand-new.

La Madre in particular offers a very cool piece of gear - the Electric Rod. Perhaps already familiar to you from the Mules in the original and the Bandits around Mexico, Sam can now wield the Electric Rod for himself. So when does La Madre offer it to you? Specifically, it comes from reaching a two-star connection level with her.

You can achieve these in any way you like, even just from delivering lost cargo you find strewn across the world. However, these only give a small boost. If you really want to get your hands on the Electric Rod quickly, make sure to complete the Lost Cargo Recovery Aid Request from La Madre. This will easily ♔boost you up to a two-star connection level, and possibly edge you🔯 quite close to three stars, as well.

How To Use The Electric Rod

Once you finally have your hands on the Electric Rod, you'll find it comes with just about every capability that the Bandits have when they use it. When you take it out, you can swing it around as a powerful combat tool, tho🧸ugh keep iꦰn mind this will reduce its durability.

You can also use it as a very powerful block. Just by holding L2, Sam will hold the rod defensively, blocking any and all incoming attacks without you having to time it🥃 or worry about dodging.

Finally, the Electric Rod can also be thrown. While holding L2, tapping R2 will immediately throw the rod in the direction you are looking, while holding R2 instead will allow you to aim your throw, as well as being able to throw it much farther. The rod has a small area-of-effect, knocking out any humans caught in its radius, and disabling any vehicles and other electrical devices.

Just keep in mind that the Electric Rod is completely useless against BTs.
