If you're having issues with a boss in D🧔eatꦓh Stranding 2, don't worry: you can skip any boss fight with this simple mechanic.

The DHV Magellan is your home away from home. You can sleep, store cargo, take showers, read books, and plenty more. It's💜 a nice place, but also your primary means of transport between major areas. It take🐠s a little while to unlock, so strap in for a good bit of walking until then.

How To Unlock Fast Travel

Before you can really unlock any form of fast travel in Death Stranding 2, you need to make sufficient progress in the main story. Specifically, you will need to have reached Australia, and then arrived at West Fort Knot (F1). You will arrive here as part of the story in Main Order No. 12, where you will encounte💃r a familiar face, and a fearsome new boss.

168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Defeat this Mech Octopus to complete the order, and bring West Fort Knot onto the Chiral Network. Once this is all completed, you will be contacted by Tarman to say that the DHV Magellan can now freely move along the tar currents within areas already connected to the Chiral Network. And that includes a swift return to Mexico.

How Does Fast Travel Work?

A tutorial showing the location the DHV Magellan can travel to in death stranding 2 on the beach.

Fast Travel, though a bit different from how most games might implement the feature, is still an incredibly helpful feature, especially in a game that really wants you to walk so much. All you have to do is open up the map and hold 'X'. This will allow you🧸 to chart a course for the DHV Magellan from the places shown on the map.

The areas available to you are any distribution centers, cities, and preppers that you have met so far, provided they are in an area wide and safe enough to fit the Magellan. In practice, this is the vast majority of areas, though ones ❀near bandit camps or more steep topography will not be available for fast travel🎃. You will have to reach those the old-fashioned way.

The actual movement of the DHV Magellan can then be done in two ways. Anywhere you are on the map, regardless of whether or not Sam is actually in the ship, you can call the Magellan to an existing area on the Chiral Network. This can be helpful if the ship is currently far away from you, and you want to pick up some cargo, enter your private room, and so on. If you instead activate fast travel while inside the Magellan, you will fast travel with it, and this allows you to also change the conti✱nent you are on.

Keep in mind that you cannot make the Magellan travel to a continent other than the one you are currently on.

Finally, using the Magellan to fast travel while holding any cargo as part of an order will result in a penalty. This will reduce your overall ranking, as well as the likes you receive. This, in turn, will slow th erate at which you increase your connection levels with various other preppers. So really, try to close the distance manually when you can.

Another key bit of information to keep in mind. Since it requires the use of the DHV Magellan to fast travel, there will be times when it is unavailable. Certain story missions and other events will leave the Magellan inaccessible for its duration, so make sure you've done all the traveling you can before picking up your next main order. You never know how long the M▨agellan will be out of commission.

Is Fast Travel Different From How It Worked In The Original Death Stranding?

In the original Death Stranding, fast travel was an intentionally arduous affair. You had to go to an area with a private room, chat with Fragile, choose another private room to fast travel too, sit through three or four different cutscenes, and also store all of your current cargo in the private locker at the first private room.

It was intentionally restrictive to disincentive actually doing it. Death Stranding 2, focusing much more on urbanisation and the restoration of infrastructure, is happy to make the process smoother, even if it's still not quite fully free fast travel. You can even store cargo in the DHV Magellan's private locker to zip it across the map for later, whether you're on board or not.

Are There Other Forms Of Fast Travel?

Charting a course with the DHV Magellan is the primary means of fast travel, especially in the more traditional sense in which it is implemented. However, there are other forms of fast travel that exist in the game that do🌸 not penalise you for using them, and are even encouraged.

Road would be the first of these. They act exactly as they did in the original Death Stranding. Once repaired, they form a massive highway that will eventually span the whole length of Australia, and offer you a bump-free means of traversing the nation. They even come with an energy zone along the center that stops your battery from draining. Keep to this with a vehicle and you can boost the whole length of🤡 the road without losing a single drop of power, and get to your destination quickly.

Monorails are the next means of this. Like roads, they follow a set path, but can hold a massive amount of cargo and even vehicles, and Sam can hop on for the ride too, as well as allowing you to jump ✃off anywhere along the tra𒈔ck. This does require getting to a monorail station first, and the majority of them have to be rebuilt as well, but they are still incredibly helpful.

The vast majority of monorails connect to mines, though they also conn🐻ect betw🌠een other major facilities as well.

The final form of fast travel that exists, and is realistically the fastest method of all, are transponders. These are not like the other more pre-set systems, but are instead player-built. They do not unlock until quite a bit into the story, so you'll be walking for quite a while. Transpon♔ders are built using a level 2 PCC, and as such require Chiral Network connectivity to be built.

When used, they let you travel to any other transponder on the current continent. That means not just to other transponders you've built, but ones placed by other players too. A bit like how ziplines worked in the original game, but even faster this time. The major caveat to this is that transponders, like Fragile's jump in the original game, require you to leave all of your cargo at the departure transponder. As such, ꦿit cannot be used as a means o🎐f delivering cargo.
