Summary

  • One of the biggest questions Dead Rising fans have had about the Deluxe Remaster is whether it would re-balance certain items.
  • Worry not, though, as my hands-on time with the game has proven that most have been kept the same, if not made more durable.
  • That notably applies to the Mannequin Torso, which was infamously overpowered in the 2006 release.

hasn't changed the infamously overpowered Mannequin Torso, which can still somehow take zombies out in one hit.

Although ♋most Dead Rising fans were just 🍷happy to see the series return when Capcom announced the Deluxe Remaster of𒊎 the original game a few months ago, there were a few concerns about what might be tweaked. We've already seen plenty of good changes like the staircase being added out𒆙side the safe room and time being fast-forwardable, but there's a lot we didn't know.

Capcom is ch𓄧anging the timing mechanic in a massive way with the Deluxe Remaster.

One of the biggest questions that fans ha♏ve had about Deluxe Remaster (besides whether or not it's a remake) is whether Capcom would re-balance any of the weapons and change the meta that's been around since 2006. Well, worry not Dead Rising fans, as my hands-on time with the Delu🥂xe Remaster so far has proven that🌃 most things have stayed as overpowered as before.

Don't Worry, The Mannequin Torso Is Still OP In Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster

If you've played before, then your mind likely jumps to the Small Chainsaw when thinking of powerful items, but there's another weapon that's even more reliable - the Mannequin Torso. In the original game, this unassuming weapon that can be picked up right before you enter Paradise Plaza .

That, combined with its high durability that can be increased with books, and something that veterans knew to keep a hold of. I'm happy to report that it's been kept exactly the same in Deluxe Remaster, and still kills zombies in one hit from the moment you pick it up.

A lot of we𒅌apons have actually been made even more useful, including t꧅he regular Chainsaw, which has been given a big boost to its durability.

It doesn't seem like Capcom has reduced its durability in the remake, either, so it remains as one of the best tools in the game. It would have been easy for Deluxe Remaster to rebalance what is clearly a mistakenly powerful item, but I'm glad that Capcom stuck to its guns and kept all of the little secrets and strategies from the original release.

And don't worry, books still have just as much as an effect on the Mannequin Torso and Small Chainsaw as they did in the original.
