This pint-size terror is every bit as lethal as the other Killers. In fact, his short stature and unique abilities gives him an edge on some of the other Killers in the realm. With this guide, you’ll learn⛎ what you need to apply Chucky’s brand😼 of murderous mischief to the Entity’s Trials.

How Does The Good Guy’s Power Work

via BHVR Entertainment

Chucky’s unique power is called Playtime’s Over, and when you&rsq📖uo;re ready to get serious, its stealthiness allows you to catch Survivors off-guard while the agility it grants will allow you to catch up and finish them off.

Special Ability: Hidey-Ho Mode

Normally, Chucky leaves behind a short trail o𒊎f rapidly-disappearing Footfalls that Survivors can see. Activating Hidey-Ho Mode, in addition to making him Undetectable, will make Survivors see Illusory Footfall🍸s and hear footsteps from all directions, as if Chucky is nearby. While in Hidey-Ho Mode, you gain access to the Slice & Dice and Scamper abilities.

  • Activate Hidey-Ho Mode by pressing the Secondary Power ability.
  • Basic attacks deplete some of Hidey-Ho Mode’s Duration.
  • Hidey-Ho Mode ends if you’re stunned.

Special Attack: Slice & Dice

While in Hidey-Ho Mode, Chucky has access to the Slice & Dice attack, a long-range dash that ends in a leaping strike. Afterwards, Hidey-Ho mode goes into cooldown.

  • Slice & Dice has short charge time before it activates, hold down the Use Power button until the gauge is filled up. Continue to hold the button until you want to strike, otherwise the dash ends early.
  • Chucky is harder to maneuver while dashing, but is much faster.

Special Ability: Scamper

While in Hidey-Ho Mode, Chucky can vault over windows and under droppedღ pal🉐lets.

  • If you Slice & Dice into a wall or downed pallet, you’ll Scamper under or over the obstacle and after a brief pause, continue to Slice & Dice.

Continue toཧ hold down the Use Power button during and after the Scamper animation, otherwise you’ll go straight to the leaping strike animation.

Tips For Playing The Good Guy

via BHVR Entertainment

The Good Guy is a highly versatile Killer who can switch between devious and sneaky to a strong Chaser with great ease.

Whether you get a cheeky hit on a Survivor focused on a generᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚator, or sprint at them screaming, Chucky knows how to bring the pain. To get the best out of this unique Killer here are somꦫe things to keep in mind:

  • Your short stature is uniquely advantageous. Survivors have a hard time spotting you over obstacles, which can lead to bad 50/50 scenarios for them when you mindgame at a loop.
  • Chucky’s POV is unique among Killers, being more akin to the Survivor camera. This allows you to do normally Survivor-only tricks like spot checking around corners in a loop. You can hide your Red Stain while you do this.
  • Sometimes the best move in a loop is to activate your power and hide in place, out of sight. This can sometimes land you a free hit if the looping Survivor inadvertently runs into you thinking you’re still chasing behind them or have left the loop.
  • Slice & Dice is a versatile ability. It’s a great attack, and the recovery on Hidey-Ho mode is forgiving enough that you can use it for traversal as well. This is especially effective with the Jump Rope and Portable TV add-ons.
  • The recovery animation on a missed Slice & Dice is generous and even if you whiff, you still have a shot at landing a basic attack follow-up, especially if the Survivor runs into open ground.
  • If you miss with a Slice & Dice and don’t want to overshoot your target, let go of the button to swing early and stop dashing.
  • You’re slightly slower than most Killers that strike in melee. Get the drop on Survivors through stealth or close the gap with Slice & Dice rather than just running at them.
  • As long as you run into a vault location or downed pallet with Slice & Dice, the attack will keep going as long as you hold down the button.
  • Basic attacks take a huge chunk out of your Hidey-Ho Mode duration. If you’re planning to follow up with Slice & Dice, do it quickly before your power runs out.

The Good Guy’s Unique Perks

Chucky sprints at Yui, knife held high with his Slice & Dice Power

The Good Guy has an eclectic suite of unique perks that can be quite powerful when put in the right builds. These perks mess with the expectations of Survivors, and allow you to get right back to the chase after a hook.

Hex: Two Can Play

A Hex that teaches those who mess with you a lesson.

When you are stunned or blinded twice, if there is🌸 no Hex: Two Can Play Hex Totem in play, a Dull Totem becomes one.

  • While this Hex Totem is active, if a Survivor stuns or blinds you, they are blinded for 1.5 seconds. This effect doesn’t work on Survivors you are carrying.

Friends ‘Till The End

You’ll kill anyone who gets between you and your target.

You start the match Obsessed with a Survivor. Whenever you hook a Survivor that is not your Obsession, the Obsession screams and reveals their aura for 10 seconds. They are also Exposed.

  • If you hook your Obsession, another random Survivor screams and becomes the new Obsession.

Batteries Included

Being somewhere between man and machine has its upsides

When within 12 meters of a finished generator, you gain a five percent Haste bonus that lingers for five seconds after you leave𝓰 thaﷺt range.

  • This perk deactivates once the Generators are powered.

I꧋f you can kill all four Survivors with just these three perks on The Good Guy, you’ll earn the 𓂃Adept Good Guy achievement

Best Build For The Good Guy And Perk Synergies

Chucky brandishes a knife. Around him are his default perks

Chucky knows that sharing is caring, and DBD players know that the best builds are compos💙ed of perks from multiple Killers. Here are some s🔜trong perks that play well with The Good Guy’s kit:

  • Save The Best For Last: Stacks a token (up to eight) that lowers the recovery time after a successful basic attack when you land one on a non-Obsession. Basic attacks remove two of these tokens. This is great for landing quick downs without having to rely on Slice & Dice. Slice & Dice is a reliable way to hit the Obsession without losing tokens, since it doesn’t count as a basic attack.
  • Hex: Blood Favor: As long as the Hex Totem is active, damaging a Survivor blocks all pallets within 32 meters from being dropped for 15 seconds. This perk is fantastic for securing follow-up hits, especially at the beginning of the match when Survivors don't know you have it.
  • Deadlock: When a generator is repaired, the generator with the most progress is blocked for 30 seconds. A reliable way to slow down the game that you don’t have to think about too much.
  • Mindbreaker: While repairing a generator and for five seconds afterwards, Survivors are afflicted with the Blindness and Exhausted status effects. Capitalizing on the stealth provided by Hidey-Ho Mode this perk allows you to get extra close to Survivors working on gens and prevents them from using Exhaustion perks to gain distance from you.

Do not use the perk Shadowborn on Th🔯e Good Guy. His unique POV means that it doesn’t work for him. This is also true for the FOV-altering effects of Monitor and Abuse.

Hex: Two Can Play Perk Synergies

The perk Hex: Two Can Play on a magnetic knife rack

A bit of a niche perk, but utilized properly, Survivors might find out just how aꦐnnoying it is to be Blinded. Even prepared Survivors might blunder into walls while trying to g🅰et away, allowing you to close the gap that much easier.

These perks work nicely with Hex: Two Can Play:

Enduring

  • Reduces the stun duration from being hit with a pallet by half.
  • If you want to get value from Hex: Two Can Play, you’re gonna have to eat some pallets. This perk ensures you can get back in the action much quicker, likely while your quarry is still blind.
    • After getting pallet stunned, Scamper under the pallet to continue the chase.

Spirit Fury

  • After breaking two pallets, the next time you would get pallet stunned, the pallet is instantly broken. This doesn’t count towards the next Spirit Fury activation.
  • You’re gonna have to break those downed pallets eventually. In combination with the blind from Hex: Two Can Play, you’re pretty much guaranteed a hit after activating this.
    • Especially effective with the Hard Hat add-on, since you don’t even have to stop to break the pallet.

Friends ‘Till The End Perk Synergies

Friends 'till The End perk icon on a magnetic knife rack

A deceptively strong perk that ensures that you always have someone to chase after hooking someone else and a decent chance at a quick down as well, thanks to its 10-second Exposed effect.

These perks have powerful synergies with Friends ‘Till The End:

Furtive Chase

  • On hooking the Obsession, you get a five percent Haste and the Undetectable status effect for 18 seconds. When the Obsession is rescued from a hook, their rescuer becomes the new Obsession.
  • Friends ‘Till The End allows you to potentially hook the Obsession quickly, while Furtive Chase gives you a leg up on hunting your next victim.
  • The Obsession change on rescue means that you’re not encouraged to tunnel down on Survivor, allowing you to spread pressure more evenly.

Nemesis

  • Survivors who blind or stun you (not counting carried Survivors escaping) becomes the new Obsession. When a Survivor becomes the new Obsession, they are afflicted with the Oblivious status effect and you see their aura for four seconds.
  • Works with both Friends ‘Till The End and Furtive Chase, making the Obsession that much easier to stalk and down.

Lethal Pursuer

  • Shows you the auras of all Survivors for nine seconds at the start of the trial. Whenever a Survivor's aura is shown to you, it lasts for two more seconds.
    • Gives you a head start on hunting Survivors at the start of a match, allowing you to get the ball rolling more quickly.
  • Affects both Friends Till The End and Nemesis, making the Obsession even easier to find.

Batteries Included Synergies

Batteries Included perk icon on a magnetic knife rack
This perk can be difficult to work with, but the speed boost it gives can be quite powerful. These perks have some interesting utility when combined with Batteries Included:

Tinkerer

  • When a generator is repaired to 70 percent, you get a loud noise notification and the Undetectable effect for 16 seconds. This can only trigger once per generator.
  • This perk allows you to get into position on a generator that’s almost done. Whether you get there in time to stop it or arrive a little too late, it’s a win-win, since in the latter case, you’ll get a speed boost from Batteries Included.

Machine Learning

  • The damage generator action activates this perk. Once active, the next generator you damage with the damage generator action becomes Compromised and is highlighted in yellow.
    • When fully repaired, compromised generators give you a 10 percent speed boost and the Undetectable status effect for 30 seconds.
    • Only one generator can be Compromised at a time. If you Compromise another generator while one is still Compromised, only the last damaged generator will be Compromised.
  • This perk, alongside Tinkerer, allows you to hone in on a generator as it finishes and if you’re in position, you’ll get a glorious 15 percent boost to your movement speed for five seconds and likely there will be a Survivor nearby for you to chase.

Batteries Included deactivates when the doors are powered. The developers has said on a stream that they will remove this stipulation at a future date,𝓡 whichಞ would make this perk synergize well with Hex: No One Escapes Death.
