A misplaced word in Date Everything might not be taken very kindly, and⛦ maybe even result in a character hating you. This isn't exactly ideal in all scenarios, especially when you really wanted them to like you, maybe even love you. Well, this doesn't have to be permanent, and candies can be a helpful nudge in making a relationship a little more lov🌳ing.
What Are Candies Used For?
Candies are a pretty rare item in the game, something that isn't really mentioned until you finally have one. And once you finally have your hands on them, you may not actually enough know how to use them. If you're lucky and lovable, they will be completely useless to you. If some characters do hate you ꦍthough, the❀y can be used.
If a character hates you, this is typically permanent outside of some rare circumstances that allow you to change them. Outside of these extremely limited events, you are restricted to Candies. When talking with a character that does Hate you, you are given the option to use a Candy on them to help mend your failed relationship.
This will turn a Hate ending into a Friends one. While it can't be turned in a Love one here through most scenarios, it will make some things a bit better and easier. For example, certain polyamorous relationships will be easier to achieve, and your end𒊎ing mig🌌ht just be a bit more favourable.
However, you cannot use any Candy on any character. The Candies in the game are represented by each of the SPECS stats. By extension, this means you can only use certain Candies on certain Dateables🦩. For example, Nightmare is an Empathy Character, and you can only undo your Hate ending with them by using an Empathy Candy, and no other.
How Do You Get Candies?
Candies are rare items, and ones that no one in the game really tells you about until one is dropped right into your hand. And these are given to you by Keith. Keith himself is also something ofꦬ a hidden characte𓆏r, who is a Skeleton Key that is found in a hidden area of the house, in its crawlspace. It's all very secretive.
Once you do find Keith, you can chat away with him whenever you would like, and he is very keen on discussing SPECS points, If you pass certain thresholds for him, which seem to be around 50 points in the respective SPECS Points, he will offer you a Candy for that SPECS stat. In fact, if y🐼ou meet the requirements for all of them, he will give you onꦫe of each Candy immediately.
Can You Get More Than One Of Each Candy?
When you are given a Candy, it is tracked in your SPECS sheet. You can see it placed beside the stat itself. For Candies you don't have, the shape of the Candy will still be present, but it will be greyed out. As you will🐻 noticed here, there is only a single space available for Candy. So does that meaꦿn you can only have one of each Candy?
Indeed it does. You can only hold one of each Candy at a time, but you also can only get one of each Candy in total. Once you have been given all of them, Keith will remark that he has no more Candies to give you. So once you do get a Candy, it is important to realise that they🍃 are the only ones you will get. Use them sparingly, but don't be afraid to use them, either.
