Curse-Rotted Greatwood is located near the end of Undead Settlement. The boss fight is optional and is not mandatory for any ending in the game. Defeating the boss rewards you with Transposing Kiln, which you can give to Ludleth to enable Soul Transposition. This allows you to get Boss Weapons, Rings, and Spells from their Souls.

General Strategy

The boss fight with Curse-Rotted Greatwood is not your traditional fight. This is mainly because this enemy does not take any damage to most of its body parts. As the fight starts, you will see Egg Sacks sticking out from multiple areas of its body. Destroying these is your only way of dealing damage to the boss.

A good weapon with high slash or thrust damage can destroy the sacks relatively quicke🐎r.

If you are going with a Sorcery class, then get close to the sacks and use the White Dragon Breath to destroy them. You can acquire this by defeating Oceiros, the Consumed King, and Transpose his soul for the Sorcery. As Curse-Rotted Greatwood is an optional fight, you can come bac✱k𝕴 to it later in the game.

A good advantage of playing the Pyromancy class is that the boss is weak towards Fire attacks. This allows you to hurl Fireballs on the sacks, exploding them in mere seconds.

Try not to lock on during the entire fight, as the feature will l💃ock on to the boss instead of the sacks.

If you manage to take out all the enemies around the boss before waking the boss, you can skip the first phase. This also restricts the boss from using the e♒nemies to make them drop on you.

After taking more than half of its health bar, the arena will break, causing you and the boss to fight in the arena below. The boss will now have a hand that extends out from its belly, which can slಌam and grab the player to deal damage.

After destroying the sacks that are easy to get to, you can focus on dealing damage to the white hand as it takes a lot of damage. If you are♐ a ranged class, then you can ignore the hand and focus on the egg sacks on the upper body that is hard for melee༺ players to attack.
