So, if you're diving into Daggerheart for the first time, and you're not sure exactly what class to play, consider the seraph. They're highly effective and ꩵare unique to Daggerheart, which is an added perk. Here's everything you need to know about building a seraph in Daggerheart.

Seraph Class Overview

As mentioned, seraphs are divine warriors that serve as the main support class in Daggerheart.

They draw on the power of the Splendor and Valor domains, and have a handful of starting abilities that are useful for healing allies.

Here's a brief overview of the seraph class:

Best Character Traits For A Seraph

The most important character trait for a seraph is going to be Strength, as this trait is your spell♊cast trait, no matter your subclass.

If you're playing a Divine Wielder, you can capitalize on an already high Strength trait and select a weapon that also uses Strength.

Each Daggerheart character guide, ⛄attached to their sheet, has suggested starting trait values and weapons as well.

If you're playing a Winged Sentinel, you'll also want to make sure you have a decently high Presence stat as well. Beyond those traits, you can use your traits to flesh out your cha🌜racter concept.

What Are The Best Ancestries For A Seraph?

Seraphs have a relatively low starting evasion, meaning depending on the🔜 armor they select, they could prove to be more susceptible to damage and𓆏 attacks.

That's why, when it comes to selecting an ancestry, it's nice to pick one that can increase your durability. Three ancestries do just that:

Drakona - When taking Severe damage, you can mark a Stress to mark one less HP.
Dwarf - When you take Minor damage, you can mark two Stress instead of marking HP.
Galapa - Gain a bonus to Damage Thresholds equal to your Proficiency and the ability to retract into your shell, gaining resistance to physical damage.

Each of these ancestries has abilities that can make sure you stay up longer in combat, and can therefore help your allies for longer.

While these ancestries have the best abilities for damage resistance, ultimately, many ancestries' bonuses to Hope and other abilities can work too; these are just𝐆 our recommendatioꦐns based on the seraph's starting evasion.

What Are The Best Communities For A Seraph?

While ultimately, your community choice should inform your character concept more than optimization, two communities in Daggerheart have features that synergize well with a few seraph abilities:

Winged Sentinels have an ability known as Ethereal Visage, in which they can remove a Fear from the GM's pool by succeeding with Hope on a Presence roll.

Seaborne's have an ability that allows them to benefit from rolling with Fear.

So, with both abilities in tow, you can roll with Fear and benefit, and roll with Hope on Presence rolls and potentiℱally remove the Fear that t🤪he GM earned previously.

Best Starter Domain Cards For A Seraph

At character creation, you'll be asked to select two Domain Cards from your respective Domains. Seraphs have access to Splendor and Valor cards.

Here are some of the best Domain Cards you can take at level one from each Domain:
