The first thing you need to do in this quest is select a Netrunner to hack into MaxTac for you. Your options depend on the progress you have made in the base g🍎ame.

After you make your pick, go to their designated location to grab the shard and send Reed a message with the details.

How To Plan Your Attack

Next, you need to meet Reed at the abandoned hotel just west of Dogtown. You will find hi🗹m upstairs where all the𝔉 green dots are located. Johnny will stop you for a chat on your way there.

After you talk to Reed and follow him outside, he leaves you with the man in charge of planning the ambush. So, talk to the guy. You can let him do the preparations or set things up yourself.

If you're doing the prep, these are the decisions you have to make:

These decisions don't impact the story at all. They simply alter the gameplay experience.

Turrets Or Mines
  • Turrets are more likely to kill enemies.
  • Mines make it harder for them to reach you.

Turret Placement (If You Choose To Use Turrets)
  • Placing turrets on one side keeps the enemies suppressed. However, it makes the turrets easier to avoid.
  • Separating them allows you to hit from multiple sides but with less firepower.

Mine Placement (If You Choose To Use Mines)
  • Mines at the entrance points make it harder for the enemies to reach the higher level. Yet, the explosives are less likely to come into play.
  • Mines on the street make it harder for them to move initially and are more likely to do damage. However, the enemies could get past them.

Use Grenades Or Not
  • The smoke from the grenades will make it harder for them to see you coming in close. But it will also make it harder for you to see and shoot them from range.
  • No grenades means nothing changes.

Your Starting Position
  • You're less likely to take damage when you're up on the terrace.
  • You get the best chance to shoot them when you're on the stairs.
  • Hiding under the bridge means you're closer to the enemies, making it easier to attack them from short range.

After the prep is ready, talk to Reed.

If you previously agreed to send Mr. Hands' Netrunner the location of the convoy, you can send that information to Mr. Hands now.

Then, get into your ambush position and hit the 'wait' prompt.

The Ambush

When the convoy arrives, kill all the NCPD officers who are protecting the main truck. This is where your plan of attack comes i💙nto play. So, use whatever you set up to get an advantage over the cops.

When they're down, go to the back of the main truck and attempt to open the door.

You will be met by the MaxTac operators.

How To Defeat The MaxTac Operators

These operators aren't regular cops. They're much more dangerous. Each of them has a health bar and a unique set of skills.

Unless you're a very skilled close combatant, you may want to back up to find a bit more cover. But there is no place that is entirely safe. You have to face these four beasts head-on. Thankfully, Reed is nearby with his sniper, leading you a hand.

When he shoots one of them, they often become vulnerable, so that is a good time to strike.

Outside of the ones Reed stuns, you should aim to take down Jasper Collins first, as he will attempt to disrupt your cyཧbernetics.

Go After Songbird

Once you've killed all the MaxTac Operators, head back toward the truck. V's cybernetics will then start to go haywire, and Songbird will cause plenty of destruction before escaping in the truck.

Reed will get hurt in the process. So, go to the upper terrace to check on him.

Afterward, head down the road to chase after Songbird. Eventually, you re🍸ach a part with a bunch of cars.

From here, turn left and head down the road until you see several vehicles on fire. Thisꦏ is where to stop. When you do, the quest comes to a close.
