168澳洲幸运5开奖网:New World is back. It’s a new,❀ new, New World this time, version 3.0, the full release of New World: Aeternum for consoles and PC.

I hadn’t played the game since the release of the Brimstone Sands expansion a couple of years ago, so I was excited to jump into a fresh start server to experience that rush of a new MMO. Well, a new oꦯld MMO.

🤪 Amazon Might 𝐆Have Ruined One Of The Best Features Of New World

New World: Aeternum has got all the right marketing and potential t💛o revamp the game, but there's one glaring issue that's yet to be addressed.

I entered with a touch of cynicism. I’ve been burned by the game before, but Amazon Games has been hard at work. The starting experience has been totally revamped. There’s elaborate cutscenes, much better voice acting an༒d writing, and most of the starting zones have been upgraded and improved. Questing is much the same as it's ever been, go here, get that, but with the added polish to be expected of New World: Aeternum’s rebrand as an “action RPG with MMO elements”.

It’s basically the perfect start for brand-new console players to experience th𝄹e game. I quickly sunk back into crafting and questing, and formed a new company with some friends I used to play with. The problems of the past were temporarily forgotten. There are noticeable improvements, from quality of life changes like mounts and gear sets, to better frame rate, particularly in towns surrounded by dozens of other players. All in all, the game feels better than ever. I truly believe that if New World had been released in this state many months ago, the story of the game’s up-and-down lifecycle might’ve been different.

And the game has a new lease of life thanks to console players. Crossplay worlds might be just the thing New World needs to stay healthy in the long-run. A few of my guildmates are hardcore Arena players, and just a few months ago had to queue for upwards of 30 minutes for a game. We all hope that more players help keep the servers alive and functioning. When the honeymoon phase passes and players begin entering the endgame, perhaps the same problems of the past will pop up again: just what exactly is th꧃e point of playing New World beyond level 6ꦫ5? Or maybe they won’t - Amazon has added a new 10-player raid, a PvP zone, and more repeatable content like Soul Trials.

I’ve tested the game on the controller to get a feel for it, and overall, the UI optimization and tweak♐s to PvP aimlock are great. Compared to Throne And Liberty, I feel like it’s a much easier game to get stuck into—Throne just has so many buttons and fiddly targeting settings that everyone except the most hardcore console players will struggle to settle into it. New World, in comparison, provides a more casual experience with a low barrier of entry. You could spend the next two months gathering and crafting, never needing to run a raid, fight anyone in PvP, or ever engage with any of the MMO aspects at all if you don’t want to. It’s the sort of MMO experience that console players just haven’t had available.

At the🌄 time of writing, New World: Aeternum is hovering around the 50,000 concurrent player mark on Steam. With console players, we might be pushing 100,000. It pales in comparison to the game’s original mammoth one million player launch, but what we’ve got is a perfectly healthy number for an MMO. It’s all about what comes next. Amazon has always needed to learn that the most important part of running a live-service game is player retention. 💫New World: Aeternum is definitely flashy in the right places, but we will have to wait and see whether it’s done enough to keep the players around beyond the two or three month mark.

I previously wrote about how I think New World: Aeternum might be the last chance saloon for the game. Some of the press around the game has resonated with a sense of finality. This⭕ is the game, this is what you’re getti🐲ng, all it ever will be. It’d be sad to see New World falter when so many other MMOs have continued to grow and improve over many years, but I understand that Amazon Games has already got future projects in mind. I expect some in-game events and patches in the coming months, but I’m not sure if we’ll ever get another big expansion. But I’m happy to be proven wrong, and I hope that a solid playerbase of console players helps keep the game afloat long enough for that to happen.
